Will Ainge Get The Job Done?

I would love more than anything for Ainge to come out gunning but I think by the Florida game Crompton will be the starter. I really like Ainge but I dont think a Drum Circle, Support Group, or even Coach Cut will be able to fix is fragile Psyche.

He's going to get the job done this year.....Why would we switch QB's again this year like we did last year? Last year that is what literally killed us...It'd be different if we still had Schaffer but we don't, Crompton and Ainge are both alike in their tendencies...It wouldn't make any sense forthat...Like others have said on here, if we're going to beat what we did last year, we have to find one guy at QB and stick with him all year

I think some may be over-stating Ainge's importance.

In terms of winning the East, I don't think Ainge needs to take the team on his back.

Just keep giving it to Foster and expand the field a bit much more then last year.

UF/UGA/USC all are very vulnerable.

i was kind of expectin UT to run the ball about 75% of the time and only ask Ainge to throw short passes to a tight end or slot receiver. I'm not sure what Fulmer will do, in the past he seems to run the same formation and plays without a lot of changes. Right now no one respects UT's passing game, making it difficult to run the ball.

what Ainge does this year hinges more on the offensive line than it does erik ainge. his head was jacked up bad and his mechanics suffered as well. cut is as good as it gets with qbs and as long as he has time and we can run the ball well enough to keep the defense balanced, his talent will come out.

it's as if people forget what he did in 2004. he wasn't stellar all year, but he was as good as any freshman in the country. the only other that you could argue with would be chad henne and look who he had at receiver.....ainge will be fine. he won't be great, but he'll be fine as long as the o-line is.

I really hope Ainge is better but I gave up on him after last years LSU game. I have never seen a UT qb play that bad in my life.

If anyone can do it CUT CAN.

Well I know a game hasn't been played and I really don't like speculation but there has been plenty of talk on here about Qbs. Considering last year and all. Do you think CPF will be gunshy about making a switch if its needed? Or will it be Cut's call?

IMO EA has been CPF's pick since he hit campus and he has given him every opp to suceed. If things go south, whats he gonna do?

We seriously already have 4 threads discussing this! :realmad:

i think Cut has the decision making ability to make that call. I think though, that Fulmer wants to give EA as good a chance to succeed as possible. thus, no inkling of a contraversy at qb, and thus all the snaps as the No. 1 in spring, summer and fall.

thought process prolly being that that was a big problem last year with the offense never being in sync or gelling....splitting qb time, 7-9 guy rotation at WR....no consisitency, no chemistry, no timing...this year, the exact opposite.

If we still struggle that bad on offense after giving him that kind of opportunity, they won't have a choice but to make a change imo. But it won't happen until it absolutely has to....

I hope Ainge does well but as a fan the "Give Him Time" thought is a forgone conclusion now and if he starts stinking it up I'd yank him out pretty quick.Real quick!

Ainge will have to have a multiple interception game for coaches to consider taking him out. Don't think that will happen (hope).

My patience is exhausted with EA from last years debacle.Coach Fulmer will yank him after several series of ineffective play.If not, look out for what could be a repeat of last season. But, I do hope EA is up for the challenge.

Cutcliffe made sure he would be making all the calls before he signed on with UT, imo
