I find the utter premise of this thread to be absurd.. I just knew all the Republicans would chime in with these sarcastic responses.. I can't wait until the 2008 election.

There's nothing sarcastic about thinking Al Gore is political roadkill. And it has nothing to do with partisan politics. It's a common belief of many Republicans and Democrats.

But if you agree, we can't argue..:ermm:

Oh, I still think Gore is a lost cause. I just don't think Rudy has a snowball's chance of making it through the primaries.

I hope he does, it'll make the freak show that is the Presidential primaries even more of a comedy than it usually is.

I don't think Big Al has the balls to take on Hillary.
Hillary definitely has a monopoly on balls in that contest

bring him on. Gore is going to have to swing so far to the left he'll have to run for the Green Party nomination.

What's going to happen, IMHO, is that he'll lose the Dem nomination, run as a third party candidate, siphon 5-15% of the vote away from a slightly more centrist Hillary or Obama and cost the Dems the WH in 2008.

Hillary and Obama being "only slightly" more centrist means you're talking about Chairman Mao.

if you don't think that Gore has drifted that far left, then there's a bridge for sale in Brooklyn.

I'm simply saying that you're talking about a long way left if you mean left of Hillary or Obama.

Publicly, Gore's shifted crazily left because it's profitable and gives him a voice, but his real politics have always been somewhere just left of center, which is where I think he'd fall out as a president.
