If he's projected as a 1st rounder, probably will/needs to go pro... I think the NCAA tournament will be the biggest indicator if he's ready or not. I think everyone feels he ain't quite ready and would benefit from another year. But these days that extra year is thought of a lower tier player... I think he's gone and happy he chose to come here. Hopefully he will rise up and dominate during the tourny... If he don't, he needs to do some soul searching on what his next move is. Another year as a vol ain't the end of the world for that young man for sure.

Once again, why do people have this unrealistic view that an extra year of college would develop a player better than a year in the NBA or even G league? Playing another year against a talent pool with less than 2% NBA talent is not as beneficial as playing against all NBA talent, under the coaching of people who are paid to develop NBA talent. If he is a first round pick than he should probably go. The difference in money between a 20th and a10th is irrelevant compared to the money of a second NBA contract and 1 less year playing in the NBA. And no, there is no way he works his way up to a top 5 NBA pick.

he will probably leave, but imagine if he came back. you would have to think Tennessee would be preaseason top 5 right?

Do you really think he gives a damn what Tn ranks next season? Only if he plans to come back could it make any difference to him where Tn ranks. As to his being ready for the NBA, I say not yet. Mental maturity (to me part of his FT problem. Lack of concentration.) stands out to me. He is getting better but has a way to go as I see it. But with the NBA mental ability does not seem to make much difference for most players, (birds of a feather are flocked together for the most part)

Agree...if Keon and Springer got picked, Chandler will certainly be up there. You give me a pick of the three and I'm picking Chandler, as far as upside. All 3 talented...just wish we could get at least 2 seasons from these players, but if they are going to get paid, can't blame them...you get the money when you can.
I’d take Johnson due to his elite athleticism, but it’s very close
