Both QBs are looking underwhelming so far...maybe we should just prepare for the future and play Dobbs if he comes in and can compete at least equally with Worely and Peterman..

Dobbs is not your ordinary true freshman from a mental; standpoint....he is supposedly an academic genius and mastered his HS offense in one single day...mentally he is easily the best we have had since Manning....and let's not forget Ainge beat some pretty good teams including Florida as a true freshman...with this offensive line Dobbs will have plenty of time to make decisions and throw it...

I personally am really excited to see what this kid can do...his learning curve should be much much quicker than your average freshman QB...

I'd say certainly anything is possible. When Dobbs arrives, I believe that the competition will raise everyone's level and the beneficiary is the team.

No.... As smart as he is it will not prepare him for an SEC defense. I wouldn't be so quick to write off worley or peterman just because they haven't been lights out in the spring with a totally new offense and coaches.

I am a 4.0 in college and grad school and I don't call myself a academic genius !! This kid is just out of high school and wonder what defines him as academic genius apart from his desire to be an aeronautical engineer !! Tesla was academic genius, so was Edison..they had inventions to their names before coming out of high school !!
Now going back to football. Heard Dobbs has great football skills and is supposed to be prolific QB. But he is so far only played against High School not SEC.
Worley in his HS days was 'Gatorade Player of the Year' and based on experience and two years of college team snaps, I don't see why Worley won't/shouldn't get first shot !!
Finally, If Dobbs comes in and plays light out, like people are suggesting, and beats Peterman and Worley..boy how happy i would be. That means we would have landed an amazing QB . Imagine 3 months out of high school if he can beat College Junior with SEC starts and HS Player of the Year Tag, what he could do as a Sophomore or Junior !!

Go VOLS !!

If Dobbs is the starter, we will be able to win lots of games this year. If Dobbs beats out a 2 year SEC exp Worley and a QB like Peterman... then we are in for some real treat!!!

If the kid had came in during the spring, more than likely. But you gotta also consider the physical abilities too. Is he ready to do everything physically an SEC quarterback needs to do? Can he handle the speed of the game and can his body react fast enough to what his mind wants to do?

The fact that he had offers from every IVY LEAGUE university says something they don't accept dummies.

Hard to stand out with an new rec. corps out there with you. 2013 offense will hinge on the run game unless the rec's improve 100%.

You know we have another incoming freshman QB?

Like what's your guy's fascination with Dobbs?

Riley is just as good if not better.

Who's saying the QBs are underwhelming? Let's cut em some slack - no proven receivers, new staff, and a totally new offense. My goodness, man, it's the second week of April, not August.

The odds favor Worley being our qb come sept.

Could probably copy and paste this for the next 2 or 3 hundred threads on this subject.

If he is determined to be the best at the end of Fall Practice, he will start. If someone is the best, then he (the best) will start. I expect that he will not start the first game, but he just might be starting by the 5th-6th game. I think it is wide open , at least until mid-way through the Fall practice.

Not unless Worley and peterman get injured. And why is it every spring we worry about the QB underperforming? We have O&w game and all summer. After that we can start worrying.

I am just glad we are hearing that the D is playing fast making bigger hits than al, of last years practices.

How the heck are we suppose to know if he will be a starter or not? He will be given a chance to compete like all the rest of the QB's.
