Discuss.

Also, if we bring in Virginia Tech with FSU, the divisions could look something like this:

East:

Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Florida State, Virginia Tech

West:

Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Mizzou, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State

Mizzou would get to play everyone in the East for a few years as an "introduction to the SEC" if you will, before sliding West which makes more sense from a travel stand point.

We could also have...

North: Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech

South: Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, Georgia

Central: Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State

West: Texas A&M, Mizzou, Arkansas, LSU

Is this just for the sake of discussion? Or is it one of those "calling this to happen" threads?

EVERY Gator fan I talk with is adamantly opposed to FSU coming in. Who knows? Would we ever had thought Missouri would be an SEC member?

One thing that would be a travesty is having a division in the SEC with a 'North' designation.

14 is too many already.

Since the powers that be don't care about tradition or ruining cfb, they should simply add which ever schools bring the most viewers regardless of location.

Not sure how conference realignment is ruining tradition. The same schools who have a winning tradition will continue to win and be powerhouses. Adding and subtracting other schools won't change that.

True, if we stuck with tradition, Sewanee would be in the SEC.

Sake of discussion. They want out of the ACC, but it sounds like they're Big 12 bound if they move.

One of the FSU big shots tossed the SEC out there.

I'm talking about the tradition of conferences being associated with their actual geographic titles.

As a current Sewanee student (and former player), I'm glad tradition changes. We struggle to go 5-5 in the crappy division we're in now.

I don't see how two pro cities KC & STL can carry the SEC. Is Mizzou Athlectics bigger than the chiefs, cards, rams, blues? Honest question

SEC is getting good, not great coverage here in KC since mizzou joined. Paul Finebaum (geez) is a regular guest on the local sports talk here, along with Clay Tray (double geez). I think the coverage is going to be pretty good here and would imagine it might be better in STL. Once Georgia and Alabama come around on the schedule for mizzou it will be heating up here. Lately the talk has been all about Free Shoes University and Clemson flirting with the Big 12.

Unfortunately my friend we dont make those choices. They look at population and cable/satellite consumers.
