Will James Franklin leave Vandy after this season?

Of course he will. Why would you stay at vandy over one of the best programs in the country

He's not leaving until he wins "pimp of the year" award.
Want a laugh...go to youtube type in Pimp of the year. Wish I knew how to add a link(not computer savy/old).

Trojans may keep Coach O ( Fulmer effect)

Don't care what Franklin does but he should run out of town after the East Tennessee Dog Whuppin that Butch and the boys lay on him Saturday

Don't know and don't care. I'm not sure how much longer Vandy can sustain their current level of play even with Franklin there considering the way Butch has been recruiting in-state. I don't see him being able to consistently go in other states and get recruits the way that a lot of other schools can.

I agree, but does seem to get these lower star players to play really well.

I personally think he will, escpecially if say USCw or texas comes calling.

It seems that USC may give him a call. However; I doudt they will hire him. They will likely go with a USC alum if they can: Jack Del Rio, Jeff Fisher, etc. etc.

Now, he may get a serious look at the Texas job.

If he is smart, he would leave because his schedule at Vandy will only get harder and wins harder and harder to come by.

He is a good coach. I believe with him there they will stay at a 6 win level with occasional years of 7 wins. That's not as good as they have been the past couple years but it is still way better than they have been.

Texas will not fire their coach either..JMO. USC can get someone better and honestly, Orgeron has really pulled them up this season. He's earned strong consideration IMO.

He's fond of saying "The New Vandy"...

(I can't wait for him to leave so I can ask people, "Is this new vandy the same as the old vandy now?")

If not after this season, then next.

I'd say this season, though. He's losing Matthews and Vandy won't be as good next year.

If USC or Texas offer, then he will go without hesitation.
Seriously??? I can't imagine USC offering the job to a Vandy coach. I also didn't realize Texas had an opening. These are 2 of the most desirable jobs in college football. I think they could do better

SC and Texas have better options than James Franklin. I don't think he's a non-factor for those jobs but, IMO, he's nowhere near the top of the list. Also...are we even sure that Texas is going to be open?? Mack Brown has turned them around after, what seemed like a rough start.

I think he will leave whether it's this year though...dunno. However, I don't think he's going to be a hotter coaching prospect than in the future than he will after this season.

Regardless of their respective injury situations, beating UF and UGA in the same season at Vandy, all-the-while taking them to a bowl three seasons in a row is a huge accomplishment, period.

Texas A&M will be looking for a coach if Sumlin bolts for the NFL or the USC and, should that happen, I'd bet they'd take a look at Franklin.

He needs to leave while his name is hot. Franklin has benefited from playing a soft schedule and will be exposed if he goes to a school like Texas or USCw. With the SEC East back on the rise he knows its about that time to leave. With that being said he won't get the UT austin or USCw job.
