Will Kiffin stay at Bama?

He rolled Georgia and South Carolina. 2 games we were dogs in. Plus that season we were in the game with #1 Florida at the time when they were massive favorites. And..... 1 fg made and we beat #1 bama. Both of those teams humiliated us every year surrounding that season.

We were never in that FL game and Kiffin played "not to get blown out".

I'll give credit for the UGA and SCAR wins.

Yes we played Bama close but It wasn't really due to Kiffin's play calling. In fact he flubbed the opportunity to put his kicker in a better position to win.

I watched a good portion of his games at USC. Most of his losses were due to his play calling at the end of games. He tries to get cute and it burns him a lot.

He is a 'good' OC when he is under a 'great' HC who can reign him in. He is not a football genius by any stretch though.

I think he will eventually get another chance at being am HC. Probably at a mid tier Power 5 at best.

Ok to the people who discredit Cromptons boost from Kiffin. What about Montario Hardesty? Kiffin is a very good offensive coach. The Raiders lost a ton of games no matter the coach under Al Davis drafting. But look at where the Raiders ranked running the ball before Kiffin arrived and to his time there. He can adjust to focus on his offensive players strengths.

Hardesty finally got healthy. I believe the story was that kiffin wanted to showcase Brown but that was before he realized what he had in Hardesty. No way to keep him off the field

Being down 10 points with a few minutes to go. I would consider being in it.

His numbers are good year in and year out. Not sure why so many #fightingbutches want to pretend like he doesn't put up great offensive numbers.

I could call the plays at Bammer with Henry in the backfield.

Last year was the Amari Cooper show.

As long as Bammer continues to reload with "can't miss" recruits, whoever the OC is will be considered a genius.

Yes, because an offense with Blake Sims at QB should definitely be #16 in points per game.

That's higher than McElwain ever had them, even with Ingram, Julio Jones, Lacy, Richardson, etc.

That's a tired old argument. If Butch starts competing for SEC titles we'll make sure not to credit him because with top 5 recruiting classes all over the field I could win a SECCG.

Calling plays is harder than people think. Not just who to get the ball to when and how to dupe the defense. Its not so easy to just say we have the best player here comes the national champion. For instance at Oklahoma St Barry Sanders should have been easy to call plays for as all you have to say by your theory is "Hey Barry go break some ankles".

Crompton's stats were skewed that year by the big totals that were racked up against Western Kentucky and Memphis. His 3 picks against UCLA and his 1st half performance vs Auburn basically cost Tennessee those games. Tenn scored 17 points or less 5 separate times that year. It's hard for me to give Kiffin much credit for improvement in Crompton when quite frankly there wasn't any in games that mattered.

One could argue that the improvement of Crompton occurred over the season and wasn't immediate. His confidence was so demolished by the former staff that he was a work-in-progress.

How many offensive coordinators did Crompdaddy have at Tennessee thruout his career?

Dear lord I wanted Kiffin to get the Miami job. Can you imagine the rumors and stories that we would have had to talk about? It would have been glorious!

Apparently sources told Chris Low that there's a good chance he'll be back at Alabama next year.

Looks like the big name schools that need head coaches have just about found their guy. Does that mean that Kiffin is still damaged goods in the HC department?
Would love to beat him in Knoxville, either as a HC or a coordinator.

Unless I'm missing something, he's stuck at Bama for another season.

Or maybe the assistant coaching carousel is just getting cranked up. Seems like, with Kiffin's ego, he wouldn't take a lateral move to be an assistant coach somewhere else.

Why do I wish bad things on this man????? :eek:hmy:
Lame Kiffin to A&M after the Music City Bowl...bank it. He'll take Will with him too. :dance2:
