Will Maymon be 100%?

I have no idea about what kind of infection, not really a question I would think to ask.

I know he hasnt been practicing, but that may not have anything to do with the knee. I have asked about his return, but the answer I always get is "We will see".

That is the reason I am not sure he will ever be back (my opinion only), at least not at a high level.

He's playing because we are a demanding bunch and if we miss the tournament again, mattresses will be involved.

Maymon not being healthy and McCrae going pro = no NCAA next year.

Let's hope that is not how it shakes out, but I have a feeling that by the time Martin gets it figured out that we will see a repeat of the last two years.

Lol no. part of being a Tennessee fan is being able to endure all. If something bad is going to happen, it's going to happen to us. That's just how it is around here. I call it the Fulmer curse but you can call it whatever you like.

I think it's coming to an end!

What'd this person say about his return? And what kind of infection was it?

I did hear on the Swain show, whoever it was Swain was interviewing and he said that there was a chance that Maymon might not play another minute for UT. It was about 2 weeks ago. He did mention something about an infection.
I really hope Maymon returns. I thought his rehab and everything was going good.

Maybe that's why we are still recruiting. Maymon goes on a medical hardship and we have a scholarship available.

I've been saying that we shouldn't count on Maymon being back. Hope to God I am wrong. Going from minor surgery to ending a career would be pretty tough, and he wouldn't be able to sue, unless gross negligence was proven.

I keep hearing people say that he is still limping around campus and that he may not even be 100% next year. Is this true?

I raised this point a few days ago.

The infection that Maymon had (has) is extremely difficult to kill. He has not been able to work out at his pre-injury levels. We should be prepared for the real possibility that he will not be able to go next season.

Maymon had a minor knee surgery, which was then followed by another minor meniscus procedure. 4-6 weeks recovery time. Not reconstructive. He is still limping a year after the 1st procedure and isn't practicing. Its a major problem and you are delusional if you dont think so. Considering Miller was also lost for the season from a minor procedure i question Newman and the surgeon.
Maymon has a major complication and if infection, then his knee will likely never be the same again.

People banking on "next year" need to get a reality check.

Let me edit my own post so as to be more accurate about Maymon and his left knee injury and post-surgical complications in order to appease Mr. Accuracy himself - BTO.

Multiple sports commentators, radio personalities and the like have speculated that Maymon suffered from a post surgical infection following his left knee surgery. Some have gone further to specualte that he suffered from a post-surgical staph infection a/k/a Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection.

Frankly, it is the only reasonable explanation for Maymon's absence from the line-up this season and his slow recovery from a relatively minor cartilage repair.
