i must let my displeasure be known
After his announcement last weekend, Rick Perrys
record has come under considerable scrutiny from
the media and the blogs. One of the most notable
items of discussion has been about an executive
order that Perry signed, mandating young girls to
receive the HPV vaccine known as Gardasil. It was
so controversial that the Texas State Legislature stepped in and repealed the law just weeks after
Perry had pushed it through.
---------------------------
Are these non-apology apologies enough to quell
the concerns of voters looking for a presidential
candidate who will provide a clear, unmistakable
contrast to Barack Obama?
Not by a long shot.
---------------------------
Located within the mountain of emails that were
released months ago from Governor Palins time in
office, is a small quote from her that sums up her
philosophy about the governments role in such
matters. She wrote this in response to an email
from her staff in 2008 about chicken-pox immunization
regulations:
(what would you give to read 25,000 emails from
Obama?)
I would not propose govt mandating anything like
shots for our kids.
------------------------
The more I read about Rick Perry, the more I see in
him what Governor Palin fought so hard against in
Alaska. The Gardasil issue is just one instance in
many that it appears Rick Perry put the interests of
his financial backers above those of his constituents.
Timothy Carney wrote an eye-opening article for the
Washington Examiner called The cowboy corporatist
rides to the rescue. In it, he details some of the other
recipients of Perrys assistance after donating
money to his political operation.
------------------------------
The Austin paper documents the unsavory case of
$80,000 Perry donor David Nance winning a $4.5 million
grant from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. A
regional board had denied the grant to Nances
Convergen LifeSciences, but Perry intervened and
ushered the grant through.
And just as President Obama uses renewable energy as
an excuse for steering taxpayer money to big business,
Perry also loves green corporate welfare. Perry was
a featured speaker at the national wind lobbys 2008
conference, where he touted his 2005 law requiring
Texans to purchase wind and solar energy all in the
name of job creation and business growth.
------------------------
Governor Palins history of service stands in direct
contrast to most politicians, including Rick Perrys.
She went against the grain of the deep-rooted
corruption in Alaska, and even in her own party.
She was independent enough to call out those who
were abusing the system, and taking a strong stand
against them. The only interests that Governor
Palin focused on, were those of her constituents.
Looks like GS just might get his wish, maybe...Sarah Palin Iowa Organizer: 'She'll Run' - Washington Whispers (usnews.com)
If she does indeed enter the race, she will be destroyed in the debates. I would say Bachmann has a better shot than Palin. You can say what you want, we live in a sound bite country and most people view her as quitting on the people of Alaska.
I watched a fox interview with her yesterday and she was trying to talk economics, she pretty much just meshed Paul's view and a few others into her's.
Sorry GS, she has no business in the white house, but then again neither does Obama, you never know what will happen.
The most dangerous thing in this country right now is the uneducated voter.

This republican field is like a circus act

That's always true.
And
You say she has no business in the white house.
On what do you base such a dismissal?
Have you actually taken the time to review her record
as governor of Alaska during the 32 months she served?
I think anyone who actually considers the record and
the facts will find that she is the best candidate in
the field.
One of the problems is that the engine that runs this
country, the working man and woman who pay the
bulk of the taxes and produce the bulk of goods, only
has time for sound bites that come mostly from the
media who distorts just about everything.

I wouldn't be so sure Palin would lose a debate vs
Obama, or any of the republican candidates either.
Anyone with a rational mind who considers the economic
factors facing government and country would
neccessarily come up with something close to the
Ryan plan.
And the democrat field is a horror show.
gs,
Have you reconsidered the white lightning for my re-enactment?

gs bragging on the "32 months she served" as Governor. That is comedy gold right there, folks.
Why do Republicans keep running up idiot women? There are some pretty smart ones out there. If both their brains were made of cotton, you could combine Sarah Palin's and Christine O'Donnell's, and you wouldn't have enough to make a Kotex for a ladybug.
an UGA fan complaining about stupid women??
.......there are interesting parallels in the lives of these
two conservative politicians.
-------------------------------
The liberal press continues to attack Sarah Palin today,
long after the 2008 election, just as they dogged Ronald
Reagan long after he lost his first bid for the Republican
nomination.
If Sarah Palin does decide to run for President and in
the event she wins, then President Palin will have one
important link to the legacy of President Reagan. They
both will have been elected to replace a one-term,
liberal Democrat whose toxic economic policies were so
bad as to cause U.S. consumer sentiment to sink to its
lowest point in decades.
Wouldnt that be one for the history books? President
Palin and President Reagan, two controversial,
conservative politicians, widely expected to lose the
Presidential election, both defeating a one-term, liberal,
Democrat President whose economic policies caused a
humiliating loss of consumer confidence.
Why does she have a werewolf in her ad ?
Starting to see parallels with O'Donnell. Not a witch? Werewolves?
Hmmmm ......
gs,
I shed a tear every time I hear about revenuers raiding the elixir of life. Have a good trip. Keep Sarah company while there.
