I was waiting for someone else to post this, because it just seems perfect for this board, given what Pearl said after the loss to Mich. State about Scotty testing the waters. Below is from a GVX article in case you missed it. Here's the link to the piece in case you want to see it with your own eyes. It's about half way down the article: Prince not sold on being called for foul GoVolsXtra

Player Futures: UT sophomore Scotty Hopson issued a "no comment" when asked if he was returning for his junior year.

Hopson, who indicated throughout the season he'd likely return, was 3-of-7 shooting from the floor and 3 of 6 from the free throw line for 10 points with three rebounds and an assist against Michigan State.

Pearl said he'll submit paperwork to the NBAdraft evaluation committee on behalf of Hopson.

Jonathan Givony with DraftExpress stated his opinion on Scotty's draft position with this tweet: Twitter / Jonathan Givony: 25-45 my guess. RT @roqsta ...

Here's the text:

25-45 my guess. RT Pearl said after the UT loss that he would send in paperwork on Scotty Hopson. Where would he be projected IYO?

So if Scotty is projected as a late 1st round pick, do you think he goes and why do you think that?:popcorn:

There is no way he goes in the first round. The talent is there, the attitude is not.

I love our players. I love our team... but the guy hits clutch shots one day, and the next the day he airballs 8 ft jumpers. NBA? Seriously.

Can't imagine him being a lottery pick at this point in his career when he has basically not proven he can consistently play with 18-23 year olds.

Hopson's future:

sign a $1 million 3 year contract to play in the league next year.

play 3 years in the league then get cut.

go broke and move back to hopkinsville as the local bball legend.

You guys are so tough...Don't get me wrong, I see all the same flaws in attitude, drive, and heart, but he's just a kid. A KID! If you forget it, just look at his baby face. He's got some growing up to do, which is pretty normal for a young man with his talent and age. He'll come back, Pearl will continue working on him, and we should all hope that another year of being coached up will lead to a successful career and life.

He hasn't lived up to potential, but he's got time, great teammates, and a great coaching staff. I wish him the best.

I don't know how deep the pool of talent is going into the pro's is this year so I'm not one to be talking but would hopson even be a late second rounder? I can't see it he would get eat alive in the pros right now.

We all agree with you. He IS a kid and is NOT ready for the NBA, hence the thread conversation. We're not downing his character, type of kid he is, just his NBA stock to which we all agree is rather slim.

If he even gets a selection position I'd be shocked.

Late first round prediction would be a cruel joke.

I agree...I wish him the best too, but I think there are some players coming out/going in to the pros this year, I don't see it? UK has at least two leaving, not counting Patterson? IDK...IMO

Rumor has it that UK may have 5 leaving.
1. Wall
2. Cousins
3. Patterson

The above are locks...the below are questionable but rumored

4. Bledsoe (would be ok in the Draft maybe?)
5. Orton (are you kidding me?)

This is what the kids at the McDonalds All American practices are saying theyve been told. Don't be surprised if Coach Cal locks up half of the uncommitted (Selby, Knight, etc)

If I was an NBA GM, I would take Bledsoe or Orton over Hopson.
