Will Smith slaps Chris Rock

I am surprised they actually did something.
But heres the thing, if this ban doesnt include being considered for Oscar nomination, then its really a slap on the wrist. I'm sure Will doesnt give two ***** about not being able to attend the ceremony. As long as he can still be nominated and potentially win, thats all that matters.

Why is that all that matters? I feel like shame matters. I feel like his reputation matters. I feel like $ matters. I think he likes being part of the club and treated like royalty.

Who wants to put Will Smith in an Oscar worthy movie, now, anyway? He wasn't really that guy to begin with, besides a couple instances.

That's a good point. Although people do tend to have short memories. I seriously doubt that producers will avoid Will Smith for the duration of his 10-year suspension. I guarantee you Will's team of publicists are already working on a "rehabilitation" campaign to rebuild his image. Like I said in an earlier post, it would not surprise me if we start seeing "Free Will Smith" signs, banners, etc at the Oscars as early as next year.

I think it’s safe to say that he won’t win one even if he deserves it, possibly ever again.

Honestly I think 10 years from attending is a bit overboard for a single offense. He can do his rehab tour. I’m sure Rock would forgive him and make some public appearances with him to help that along.

Hitch and some of the Bad Boys movies have been on all weekend. Normally I would might turn on one of those just to have it on in the background because they are entertaining and easy to watch, . This weekend though I just didn’t feel like. I’m not anti- Will Smith or pro-boycotting movies or boycotting pretty much anything, but this whole thing has gotten so insane I’m just tired of hearing about it to the point where it’s impacting what show I watch bc I guess I have Will Smith fatigue. I’m wondering if others might feel the same?

Never cared for most of his movies. Enemy of the State and the 1st Men in Black are good.

Independence Day is horrible

Come on man, Independence Day is a classic. Can’t believe Will didn’t sign on for the second one. He really has knack for being in some really bad films. Wild Wild West for one…

Enemy of the State was good .
