I looked back again at the video. Dude was actually laughing at the joke at first then went nuts. I guess it was too funny and he noticed others were laughing. Then he noticed Jada wasn't laughing and had to redeem himself.

Meh..I think its more than that..like Jada is just for show to hide Wills other tastes.. See..he forgot the normal gender roles at the Oscars and had to make it up to "save face"..no pun intended.

In general I like Will Smith fine. He was my gateway to rap music as an 8 year old and it’s been interesting watching him grow into a dramatic actor the last 30 years. He hasn’t been in anything I’ve been particularly interested in watching for years but I don’t have don’t have a problem with him. That opinion has not changed.

I think he did a stupid thing in the moment that I would perceive as very out of character for him based on 30+ years of his public persona.

I actually don't like him that much. I liked Fresh Prince when I was a kid. His rap sucks. Independence Day and Bad Boys were pretty good, but I'd be fine without everything else he's ever done (haven't seen King Richard).

His rap was for kids which is why it was my gateway. I have fond nostalgia memories of it but it’s not something I ever play just for my own pleasure.

I haven't seen that. I remember thinking I need to see it but it's a movie nobody talks about anymore and I figure it doesn't hold up. Maybe I will check it out.

I thought MIB was entertaining though not exactly deep if that's required. The Pursuit of Happyness is one I haven't seen but seems pretty highly regarded.

The technology has changed some and there’s a bit of convenient confluence of events, but the overarching theme is most certainly relevant today. I can’t speak to if it holds up from an entertainment standard, but I still enjoy it.
