I was thinking driving to work this morning.......one of you old-timers, the final straw for Bill Battles was some kind of fake punt that didn't work from his own end of the field. Does anyone remember that?

As big of history buff as Derek was, he went and made the exact same tactical error. Letting your punter throw the ball for 20 yards from your own 28 yard line....gheez...a desperate man.

I do not harbor ill will on him. Great idea for a thread, btw. I hope he doesn't hold a grudge. I think for the most part, he was graciously welcomed into the Vol family. I think he listened to some of the wrong people and I think his ego got the best of him but I don't think he's a bad guy. I wish him well and I hope he represents his UT association with class.
