Win and in

I fairly sure most folks are so concerned and there is all the clamoring because the only way to win a NC is to be in the playoff………and Tennessee looks to be SO close. Just got to get in.

However if other fans are ever reading………if somehow Tennessee is left out……..you better hope your team in not playing them in a bowl. Tennessee will be pizzed, Tennessee is very good and they will embarrass your team. I don’t care who they are especially if their not one of the top 4 teams. Expect to get Missouri‘ed!!

never fear……..Tennessee gets in though.

It seems like the playoffs has made other bowl games meaningless to people. It’s playoffs or nothing it seems

And it only gets worse

12 a coming

I remember seemed like every bowl game meant something back in the day. I’m down for change but really ho many times did the BCS get it wrong? Maybe once? How many times has this 4 team playoff gotten it wrong? Again maybe once.

Even back before the BCS it was pretty clear most every year. Not every time but most times.

Well positive note when it’s 12 team I would say we have a shot getting in lol

You have to be stupid to think otherwise. Loser of UM and OSU don't have the strength to pass
But they have media favor. Like it or not, outside the SEC tOSU is considered on par with UGA. If Michigan beats them then both are in. If Michigan plays them close then they might get the nod.

TCU winning and making Texas look bad didn't help. The media LOVES Texas and Ewers.

The media aren’t the ones getting to decide this, though.

It unfortunately has. Partially because it’s all ESPN, FOX, and CBS talk about, even the discussion during halftime of the bowl game they’re currently broadcasting.

You think the Committee has made any more sense than the media to this point? You think they're less likely to be biased toward Michigan and especially tOSU? The worst possible outcome for UT would be for Michigan to win that game and especially a close one.

Consider a scenario where GA, TCU, and tOSU are undefeated. They're in.

USC has one loss and wins the P12
Clemson has one loss and wins the ACC
TN has one loss to GA and no championship
MI has one loss to tOSU and no championship

So who gets in? It's not as easy as "win and we're in" because several good teams are likely to be one loss teams.

definitely not USC because the Pac 12 is a joke. The ACC is a joke too. I would put in TN over MI.

This is my biggest worry. A tOSU close loss to MI is "almost a win" while our loss to GA was nowhere near "almost a win."

Ohio State, like Bama, gets a mulligan because they're always good. Right or wrong, a team that's been consistently near the top for several years will be looked at differently than TN who has not been a contender as often.

I would too but I'm a TN fan and so are you. The committee has SEEN MI more recently near the top than they have TN.

If you don't think that legacy is a factor, why did Bama "magically" get in a couple of times with a loss?

I just feel TN's overall resume is better than Ohio State or Michigan.

Of course we do but over the RECENT years, who has been at the top of their game?

A one good loss tOSU?
A one ugh loss Clemson?
A one tough day loss to GA, TN?

Without orange glasses..... Ohio State and Clemson have been there recently way more often and won it all way more recently than us.

Because their paths are way easier than any SEC team's.

Only how Tennessee is not in if they win out is if tcu wins out and Michigan beats Ohio state in a 4 ot win. Not bc it should happen but bc it's Ohio state.
