Would never share this in the FF. But the Texas forum is discussing replacements for Herman. Here's a reply to a post about a group of HCs worth considering:

Kelly wins a lot of games but tends to get pantsed when the Irish bump up against real competition.

I’ve interacted with him and he was quite personable, but has the rep as being a real dick to his players. No to Leach. His first, best role is as spoiler/irritant and the pure Air Raid doesn’t win championships. Pruitt has Tenn rolling, but his wall has precious few skins. Dykes is intriguing, but a program like SMU seems custom made for him. He produces at every stop, but never heads to the big leagues. Cristobal and Pittman don’t get me overly excited.

Last time I was presented with waffles or a fight... I chose the fight, and regretted it. Of course there was no Waffle House, just a NCO Club in Dong Tam.

I'm not really sure what that means.

I don't care what anybody says. Our program was a crap show and ran by a bunch of clowns for 10 plus consecutive years. Lest we remember.

We hired, who I think is going to be special, after the debacle of our last coach search, AD firing and AD hiring, a coach that had never been a head coach, and charged him to fix it.

This was his 3rd game in his 3rd year and he's had an epidemic to deal with. I know everyone else has too, but they didn't have all the other stuff too. If that seems like I'm making excuses...so be it, they're also facts.

Some say we shouldn't have hired someone that had no head coach experience for this mess. But we did. I think he's doing well. I have warm and fuzzy feelers in muh gut that he's building something great, its just taking a bit longer than it might have someone else.

We can all Enjoy the ride, or not.

As I read back my tl;dr post above I realize how it reads just like so many others have read over the last 10+ years, minus the never been a head coach part.

I also anticipate the same old response from those that disagree that we've all read for the past 10+ years.

Sounds like Bailey was the best Sunday night. Since I don't get to self-evaluate, I have to rely on the sources that I most trust based on experience.

Bailey is the best but he’s not playing this year.
Unless he (Bailey) changes his mind that was part of the deal. He gets to redshirt. CJP has said over and over he plays kids where they want to play and honest those deals
The other QBs are hot garbage with JG being the best option. It’s not hard to understand.
Last year JG was benched enough for someone else to take the job. They couldn’t so here we are

The backup qb needs to play. Literally every year.

We need to throw the ball downfield more

We need to establish the run

The OC sucks vs The OC needs better talent

Jimmys & Joes vs X’s & O’s

Uniforms cause success

The fans cause success
