Windy's football discussion thread.

I haven't done any homework or math on it, but off the top of my head ...as HFC CPF never lost to Vandy or Kentucky. CJH has never lost to Vandy or Kentucky. Between them we lost to them a combined 6 times?

Lifetime we are 6-1 vs Bama when both are ranked in the top 15.
Congratulations to Bama for beating up on the 3 stooges but those days are over now.

Are we any good though? We're 6-1 and I still have no idea how good we are. Aside from a strong defense of course. That seems to be the case in college football this year though. A lot of parity.
We’re better than Florida, Bama and Oklahoma so far.
That’s pretty good considering our recent history

Before Heupel the last time we beat Florida and Bama for the first time since 04. And we haven’t played our best game yet. Once Nico gets it and he’s getting close, it might not be fair to the other teams.

Our defense from the late 80's to the 00's was badass for the most part. I used to actually feel a little sorry for opposing offenses. I beginning to feel a little bit that way again. I love it!

That's how Neyland built this place though, on defense.....I'm very glad that we're returning to our roots. Tim Banks needs to have his salary tripled.

Yup, I made a comment on Nico not having a great game against Bama....and in my mind he didn't. With help he got the dub though, and made big passes when it counted, and a helluva scramble. I just think his best this season is yet to come. I see him on the edge of true greatness, and I have a feeling we'll see it soon. Hoping it happens between the hedges. When he truly gets confidence and learns to settle down, watch out!

I want to personally thank all of you from keeping me from buying tickets to fly to Austin to see Vandy get curb stomped.

Also, utjr been in touch with the SEC officials yet to plea their case about being the only viable NC contender so they gonna get all the calls this weekend? I heard the school donated to the Referee's Benevolence Society so that they could pay them refs a little more and make sure Candy is found lying against a curb this weekend.

Steve Spurious has had such a hate-boner for Tennessee for decades. There is no program he dislikes more than UT. I guess that grudge goes all the way back to his recruitment in the 60s. The love he had for the program as a local kid turned to hate when he was spurned.
This pettiness and desire to put the program down was what gave his teams the edge back then. They played to dominate. Because that's what he wanted. As evidence of teams playing up to the coach's emotional state, look no further than UT playing on fire (defense) against OK...because it meant so much to Heupel.

...and far too many posters on VN like and respect SS.
