Lifetime we are 6-1 vs Bama when both are ranked in the top 15.I haven't done any homework or math on it, but off the top of my head ...as HFC CPF never lost to Vandy or Kentucky. CJH has never lost to Vandy or Kentucky. Between them we lost to them a combined 6 times?
Before Heupel the last time we beat Florida and Bama for the first time since 04. And we haven’t played our best game yet. Once Nico gets it and he’s getting close, it might not be fair to the other teams. Are we any good though? We're 6-1 and I still have no idea how good we are. Aside from a strong defense of course. That seems to be the case in college football this year though. A lot of parity.
That's how Neyland built this place though, on defense.....I'm very glad that we're returning to our roots. Tim Banks needs to have his salary tripled. Are we any good though? Yup, I made a comment on Nico not having a great game against Bama....and in my mind he didn't. With help he got the dub though, and made big passes when it counted, and a helluva scramble. I just think his best this season is yet to come. I see him on the edge of true greatness, and I have a feeling we'll see it soon. Hoping it happens between the hedges. When he truly gets confidence and learns to settle down, watch out! Before Heupel the last time we beat Florida and Bama for the first time since 04. And we haven’t played our best game yet. Steve Spurious has had such a hate-boner for Tennessee for decades. There is no program he dislikes more than UT. I guess that grudge goes all the way back to his recruitment in the 60s. The love he had for the program as a local kid turned to hate when he was spurned.
@82_VOL_83 gon be mayuddernhail but NGAFT....he'll still be on dat portch and won't bow up
I figure he’s still bowed all the way up at me
hey, he was a good coach, but he can EABOD.Steve Spurious has had such a hate-boner for Tennessee for decades. There is no program he dislikes more than UT. This pettiness and desire to put the program down was what gave his teams the edge back then. They played to dominate. Because that's what he wanted. As evidence of teams playing up to the coach's emotional state, look no further than UT playing on fire (defense) against OK...because it meant so much to Heupel.
...and far too many posters on VN like and respect SS.
