Windy's football discussion thread.

Next Saturday, I've got MsSt breaking the Vols under 20 streak by scoring 21. I've got Tennessee scoring 34.

Prolly DA Maff 101. We'll see.

It's a computer formula based on margin of victory, SOS, etc.....

Each team’s FPI rating is composed of a predicted offensive, defensive and special teams component. These ratings represent the number of points each unit is expected to contribute to the team's net scoring margin on a neutral field against an average FBS opponent.

Our special teams absolutely stunk hence the drop
So what possible use could that be in the real world? Ranking teams should be about who wins, who they beat and who lost and who they lost to.

Here is how I would rank them if they gave me a vote.

1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Ohio State
4. Tennessee
5. BYU
6. Miami
7. Indiana
8. Alabama
9. Boise St.
10. Texas
11. Notre Dame
12. Texas A&M
13. LSU
14. Penn State
15. Ole Miss
