The refs just gave UGA a free timeout so Beck could take a couple snaps and put his helmet on.....take his time walking out there....

As SOON as the refs said " after review there was no targeting, result of play is 1st down" the ball should have been immediately spotted and the 25 second clock start ticking. UGA didnt call a timeout. That was complete BS

Yep. Welcome to SEC refs too.

Texas cant cry though...they had the ball 1st down at the UGA 21 or 22yd line with 35 seconds left and down by 3. They couldnt get it done. Terrible playcalling by Sark this entire game. Kirbys little azz outclassed them bad with the fake punt, going for that 4th and 2 to make sure they got the TD out of halftime too.

If that’s not targeting then we need to do away with the penalty all together. That’s exactly what we are trying to stop

It doesn’t matter now but there was a head lowering and helmet to helmet contact before the shoulder hit.
Again, are we trying to prevent injuries or not?
I’m saying that from a position of not liking the targeting rule to begin with. I think it’s poorly written/worded to do what it’s intended to do. This play being the perfect example of that

when they first introduced the rule you got called for targeting for damn near anything. last couple years theyve really eased back on it

Don’t disagree. By the rule, it wasn’t crown nor leading so no targeting. Not all head shots are being legislated out.

Clemson up 14-0 now in 4mins. If they beat SMU by 28 points or so, does SMU fall out the playoffs? Bet thats how they get Bama in.

Oregon is gonna be hard to beat the next few seasons. Phil Knight said he wants a Chip before he dies and he is 86...he personally signs every NIL contract. They just signed the no1 class...with 2 top 5, 5* WRs and 2 of the top3, 5* Corners just to name a few. Ridiculous class even compared to UGA and Bama. I hate that so much. They will play in the weak arse Big10 and never lose a game in the regular season. They literally have unlimited funds for NIL and flaunt it. I read where one of those 5* Corners they just signed said that he talks with Phil and they were gonna design his signature Nike shoe together and help market it. Thats on top of all the $$$...nobody else can match that. Knight is 1 of the 2 guys that founded Nike and signed Jordan. Thankfully they get most of their recruits from the West coast and up North. We still have to be able to line up and beat them though, and after this season they are gonna be absolutely stacked with 5* guys. Hopefully the team smokes way too much of that legal Oregon weed and it makes them weaker mentally and physically lol.

even if it lets bama in, it ruins vandys sec bowl tie in so still ok with it
