Targeting

Targeting

Surprised

I guess I don't understand targeting anymore.

What a bullshat call

The refs and replay officals choked

Textbook targeting.

Really don’t know how that wasn’t targeting.

Yes, it was a really bad call. Either call it or do away with the rule.

@Orangeslice13

The NCAA rulebook states that you can't substitute more than 11 players "while the ball is in play" (AR 3-5-2-I) ncaapublications.com/p-4705-2024-nc…

Replay shows the long snapper had not gotten set or touched the ball before the mass substitution, making it a dead ball and a legal play youtu.be/B78JMxYQoDM?si…

From... Kirby Smart comments on late 11-man substitution, offsides call

Would you say not knowing the exact rules while the other coach did was being out coached?

Kirby though you couldn’t sub all 11 players, and normally he’d be right but since the previous play was under review and the ball wasn’t marked ready for play they could sub all 11.

I’m really not trying to be an arse about it. But I do think from time to time, it is possible to be out coached. It is rare though and used way way too often.
No. I do not.
I think some coaches are better than other coaches and that is determined over time. I think coaches make calls that are executed by 17-24 year olds. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. The term “out coached” is typically used by people who can’t have an intelligent conversation about the game and often think a coach can change the outcome of a game where one team has 0 stars and the other team is Alabama. Kids being unmotivated because their girlfriend broke up with them doesn’t mean the coach got “out coached”
The play you just mentioned nobody was out coached. They switched the team and Georgia responded too it. It could be said that they should have subbed slower to force a time out but ultimately the Georgia guy jumping off sides happens if the offense had stayed on the field and just lined up late without all the running around. It happens that way all the time.

It could be that I’ve sat around and talked football with some really high level High School coaches and heard them all make fun of the people that use the term “out coached” but they seem to be right in that the people you see using that term a lot usually know very little about how the game actually works

Well, nothing happened right?
thats the whole point. why does everyone get all wound up? we dont know a damn thing. the people who get paid to tell us whats going on don't know a damn thing.

ive embraced a wait for fall, check the roster and its time to go mindset
