Are you serious? You just stated that every single year in the Fulmer era UT has had more talent than the REST OF THE SEC! Auburn had 4 players go in the FIRST ROUND last year. Florida is always loaded with talent, and LSU has more talent than anyone in the SEC this year. Hell, some analysts have stated LSU was more talented top to bottom than USC this year! 2001 was a great year for UT and if you want to blame the LSU loss on Fulmer, fine but he wasn't the one making stupid on the field mistakes. Florida by the way was the more talented team that year and was heavily favored vs. UT but I guess the UT win was all player performance and had nothing to do with good coaching right? I would have to contend that you, my friend are the one who knows little about football if you would make such a ridiculous statement as UT has had the most talent in the SEC every single year under Fulmer. And for the record, I have 38 football games either stored on my DVR or burned on DVD from this season alone so I watch plenty of football buddy.

Wow...
1-Tennessee does NOT have more talent than ANYONE in the SEC every year. That is simply not the case. However, they are consistently at the very top of the SEC in talent EVERY YEAR. Auburn was clearly more talented than UT last year; and they went undefeated with that talent (hint...). I thought TN and FL were neck and neck in the 90's, with one side perhaps having the edge from year to year. Of course, FL basically owned whether they were better or not (coaching). UGA was a perennial underachiever until Richt got there.
2-I disagree that LSU has more talent than anyone in the SEC. Tennesse has the most talented defensive front seven in the country. LSU is so-so at LB and DE; and they are average/young in the secondary. They have one good WR. Their QB is average and their OL is good. Tennessee, across the board, is the most talented team in the SEC this year - and the draft will bear much of that out (Kiper has 4 TN players rated in the top 25 picks). Just because our WR do not produce doesn't mean they're not talented (same for OL).
3-Florida was NOT the more talented team on the field in 2001. Yeah, they were favored by a bunch; but that was because we are always played bad and Fulmer got his butt kicked by Spurrier every year, not because of talent. Go through those rosters, look in the NFL, and tell me FL was more talented. Not the case. That 2001 TN team was one of the most talented teams in the country over the past 5 years. We could go on and on with NFL guys on that squad.
4-The LSU game was a combination of TN turnovers and TN relaxing a little. Saban is great, and I'm sure he had something to do with it. But TN had their chances to win that game.
I still contend that, on average, TN has top-toer talent and gets 2nd-tier results. We've only finished in the top 10 one time since the NC horsehoe year of '98.
