The WNBA scouts and GMās already evaluated and made it clear who the better prospect is, they are responsible for projecting talent for the next level and have done a great job saying Kiki is a better prospect for the next level. Anyone that knows basketball, knows stats donāt tell the whole story. Last 2 year Kiki has been an AllAmerican so sheās been consistent with an incompetent coach this year. Kiki has star quality but Morrow has role player quality and time will prove that.
Chicago made a mistake not taking Serena Sundell. They needed a PG and I canāt think of a more perfect player to learn from Sloot. Missed opportunity.
The whole league discounted Sundell because she isn't flashy. Even if she doesn't make it in Seattle, I am certain that she will eventually have a decent career in the W if she sticks with trying to make the league. Sundell is actually a better passer and a more accurate shooter than Amoore. And she has the size to actually guard opponents in the W.
They passed on Morrow because they think her rebounding wonāt translate, and she canāt shoot, but also will have trouble scoring in the post at her size. Im. Or a fan of Citron and never thought she should be taken in the lottery, sheās a bench player. But Kiki is a mid range assassin when she gets the ball in her s-itās, where she can make quick decisions, thatās her game.Hey Dark Phoenix, turns out that you were correct. Mea Culpa.
That said, I cannot understand how the Mystics passed on Morrow with all three of their first round picks. They now have two, near identical, forwards neither of whom is a credible outside threat. In addition, they used the third pick in the draft on a guard who can't create her own shot. Don't get me wrong, Citron has a solid, all-around, game but even on her best day she never rises above being a supporting player. I can all but guarantee that several players picked after her will have substantially better careers than Citron. Then to top things off, the 'Stics made a real reach with the sixth pick. Washington already tried a number of diminutive guards over the last couple of seasons. Players who were better shooters and/or facilitators than Amoore and none of them were able to stick with the team beyond a single season. So why, oh why, go there again when Morrow was still available? I know that the Mystics are basically mailing in this season, but that is no reason to draft poorly. The team's new management is already deeply disappointing.

I wish her the best, but thatās my evaluation of her at the next level, now she might get mins for the Sun so letās see how it turns out. Also she shoots 18% on pull up shots, so she canāt shoot at all but maybe with work she can improve, so I wonāt hold it against her. citron is a bench player, but I do like Amoore and think her game will translate well because of her shooting ability.Morrow was successful against elite competition in the college game, I think her skills and motor will translate in the W. All the more so because she actually has a perimeter game. Time will tell. Iriafen is talented but the 'Stics already have Edwards, who they drafted last year, and who is almost identical to Iriafen (with similar limitations). Add in Citron and Amoore and I have no idea what kind of a team the Mystics are going to put on the floor. All the more so because Austin is brittle and has played in less than half the games since she was drafted.
Local kid, from CA.
She landed on the right team, one of the only teams, to get a shot at sticking.Probably gonna give it a go, maybe sell a few tix when they play in NY or CT, or when matched against the marquee names (Angel, Caitlin, Paige, blah, blAh)ā¦but at 5ā9ā and needing space to hit from outside, and now facing consistently really big, fast, smart people who will snuff out her collegiate memories mercilessly - no more surprising drives near the glass. sheāll enjoy the next couple years before moving on with her life. Ah, to be young.
Man youāre so spot on about ESPN smoke. For them to have fumbled what is now left of MLB is more sadness at a time when the national pastime depends on plastic and tapping. All smoke, all the time. Paige Bueckers in the campus gym squeaking around is now only memory. The money is an operation and the very word āsportā canāt be comprehended except with plastic and tappingā¦and fees. I sat behind Sheaās mom. Row behind Sueās mother and father. To their left Rebecca and Kara Walters by Genoās mom. The Vols warmed up in front of usā¦very tall and a swirl of orange. The game got played and we heard the squeaks and the bumps and the ball pounding the floor. With ESPN dropping MLB after this year WNBA should get all the smoke during primetime during Summer next year...
Rickea was awesome in her gig as orange carpet cohost. Dress as always (and everyone elseās too) seemed wildly inappropriate for the occasion, but just, man she looked good. The shorter hair was especially popular w the Rickea fashion watchers in my house.
So all three UConn eligibles got drafted. Geno will use that when he recruits.Probably gonna give it a go, maybe sell a few tix when they play in NY or CT, or when matched against the marquee names (Angel, Caitlin, Paige, blah, blAh)ā¦but at 5ā9ā and needing space to hit from outside, and now facing consistently really big, fast, smart people who will snuff out her collegiate memories mercilessly - no more surprising drives near the glass. sheāll enjoy the next couple years before moving on with her life. Seeing her do that gave me a lump in my throat. I seriously had to fight back tears. And I told my friend who was watching with me, "That right there just put her on some GM's must-get list."It was those ice cold 3 free throws that got SAB drafted according to Sparks GM. And I get that. It was One of the clutchest, gutsiest things Iāve seen in sports. Got chills rewatching it here.
Gonna be tough! The 2027 draft is DEEP as ever! The Athletic has Talaysia as their #11 prospect for the 2026 WNBA draft. Would of course love for her to be a first round pick, just hope she uses that redshirt year and she goes that high as a 2027 draft pick instead!
