Its not on the league to pay more, it’s on the public to support and put money into the WNBA. If people fill up the arenas and buy the merchandise, the salaries will increase.

I think the big problem is that the WNBA has a pathetically bad TV contract. It needs a much better, more lucrative TV deal. That is where the money is. I think the value of the NBA's TV contracts is north of $1 billion. The WNBA's contract with ESPN is $27 million--a pittance.

Once more of these college stars come out everything will go up, this was a really good year for promoting stars and if it continues, the people will tune in to watch them when they get to the league.

What makes this season different from when Stewart, Griner, EDD, Diggins et al were all being promoted? WNBA has yet to capitalize on the popularity of WCBB. They still play during the summer and sport fans aren’t thinking basketball. It’s been a long standing trend that fans of college players largely don’t follow them to their pro destinations.

I think u need to bring in people that don’t usually watch, most of those players didn’t bring in new viewers, maybe I could say Diggins might have. But I’ve had people talk to me about Reese and they don’t even watch basketball, but she did get them to tune in. And I do t think anyone that u mentioned grew a following like she did in the last year, to go from 70k followers to now 1.5 million in one season is a huge jump, just promote more stars and people will tune in, but the layers have to self promote as well.

One more thing about the draft. As a decidely non fashion expert, I thought Boston looked terrific. She has a certain cool, never trying too hard and her look reflected that. Also thought Brea Beal looked sharp, and of course loved Jordy doing Jordy. Zia looked amazing, but maybe more for a prom than a draft.

Aliyah is definitely read for prime time. She is very poised and seems mature beyond her years, as is Jordan Horston.

Their streaming is also garbage. It’s such a pain. They need to cut a deal with ESPN. I have to say that, because I hate ESPN. But it needs to be easier to stream/view games.

Expecting the average, casual wbb fan to purchase a subscription just for that is too much to ask.
