about what I thought. his toe not being in the ground with weight on it at impact allowed for the leg to react properly to being hit.
Basically, the elasticity and strength of his leg was able to absorb the hit and disperse the energy vs his foot being in the ground, a stable hip/torso above and a knee with nowhere to go.
Plus, Wolfe saw him coming at the last second and any inch of defensive movement he made probably just saved his knee
