After reading through this thread I’m going to go ahead and blame the educational system for not teaching basic fundamental economics and math over the last couple of decades.
Pay increases > costs of doing business/cost of goods increases > higher pricing gets passed to the consumer. Smaller businesses can’t absorb those increases and larger businesses won’t due to set profit margins.
Yay, your pay increased but your percentage of cost of living expenses increased as well so you basically gained not a damn thing unless you’ve learned to live well within your means.
We’re in for an interesting economic ride as those choosing to currently stay out of the workforce come face to face with those massive consumer price increases that are getting bumped not only by the higher wages but the increases in other business costs getting rolled in.
