World Series: Texas Rangers vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Because there is simply nothing to say. You explicitly stated that you could say something much worse to piss us off, so I'd love to see a sample. I'm not holding my breath.

The comparison with Tennessee and its rivals isn't exactly a great one, because Tennessee has a lot of success and tradition to draw from. We're having a rough spot, but it's not like we've never experienced sustained success before. I mean, this is Tennessee, after all.

The same can't really be said for the Astros, so the fact that you've zeroed your hatred on the Cardinals says a lot. I mean, maybe you hate them as a divisional rival, but I doubt you hate the Cubs, Reds, Brewers and Pirates as much as you hate the Cardinals.

Please do hold your breath. Preferably as long as possible...

I've already pointed out why I don't talk trash. I have no problem with people like UTC and Vader. I've been nothing but respectful to Cardinals fans since the playoffs started but suddenly people like you are coming out of the woodwork trying to goad me into bashing them.

And surprise, surprise. You're wrong again. I hate the Cubs as much as the Cardinals. So I guess I must be jealous of them too. Right?

Like I said, bash the Astros all you want. I don't really care. They suck, who knew? It's funny that you think I'm jealous and are bashing me for liking a team that has been consistently bad. Personally, I take that a compliment seeing as I continue to cheer for a team that is awful. How did you become a Cardinals fan again? Was it when Mark McGwire hit 70 home runs or was it when they won the World Series? See... I don't really care. Truth be told, you were probably a fan well before then but it's a lot easier to cheer for a team that wins than a team that doesn't. I have my reasons for hating the Cardinals and it has nothing to do with jealousy. Think what you want though, just get off my back.... I ain't gay. Sorry

Nah, you've just made plenty of backhanded comments throughout the playoffs. I've noticed. *shrug*

No, nobody is ever jealous of the Cubs.

The Cardinals struggled to reach .500 the year McGwire hit 70, so that would be an awful time to jump on the bandwagon as a fair weather fan. There are baby videos of me with Jack Buck's voice playing prominently over the radio in the background, so I didn't really have a choice.

...but it's a lot easier to cheer for a team that wins than a team that doesn't.

After hearing this one ad nauseam from Cubs fans over the years, I've come to see this as a lame point of view. You're not a better fan because your team sucks.

Think what you want though, just get off my back.... I ain't gay

Sophistication.

Guys, The_Orange_Pearl and all the other Astros fans (all 15 of them) have a annual routine. Root against another team in the post season because they have no team to root for. That's what fans of losing teams do.
So let the guy have his fun. He doesn't have much going for himself.

A college student saying *shrug*. Pimp

By the way, show me. I've blatantly said I don't like the Cardinals. Nothing more, nothing less. Then you came riding in on your my little pony out of the blue and decided to act like an internet badass.

No, nobody is ever jealous of the Cubs.

Point proven. You claim I'm jealous of the Cardinals because they are good and yet I hate the Cubs. Your logic is flawed in just about every sense.

Yeah... because there aren't bandwagon fans who pulled for the Cardinals after McGwire hit 70. There aren't fans of Lebron James and Michael Vick either.

After hearing this one ad nauseam from Cubs fans over the years, I've come to see this as a lame point of view. You're not a better fan because your team sucks.

And you're not successful because your team is good. Rub it in that my team sucks, I don't care. You don't play for the Cardinals and yet you act like cheering for them makes you superior to people who cheer for bad teams. That doesn't make you a better fan either, just an ass.

Sophistication.

I'd say so. I have my reasons for hating the Cardinals and it has nothing to do with them being good. It certainly has nothing to do with you. You've resorted to hating the worst team in baseball because of one person on a message board. Truly sad considering I wasn't even talking crap. I hate the Cardinals and you hate me for hating the Cardinals. Sound like a mental midget to me. I'd hate to see your reaction if someone insulted your personal life. Hope they own a bullet proof vest

Anyways, I actually want to talk about baseball now. You know, the one thing you haven't done since you arrived. Feel free to get the last word in since I know you'll never let it go and believe you're smarter than you actually are

Tonight is the night.

Hopefully the Rangers don't allow 20 runs in the first inning like the Brewers.

2011 World Series Lance Berkman of St. Louis Cardinals says he was wrong about Texas Rangers - ESPN Dallas

I never knew he said some of that stuff. Good for him for being classy in the end though. Then again, I probably would too even if I didn't mean it. Last thing you want to do is add fuel to the fire and give someone bulletin board material. You shouldn't need anymore incentive than a million dollar paycheck and winning the World Series but sometimes you want more than that. Sometimes you want blood... figuratively speaking.

Really, funny since I didn't even ask for it.
For me it's my family, career, $ and chicks in my life mean more to me. My season tickets to UT football, all my trips to Cards baseball games (like tonight), Bears football games amd several Superbowls. That's what helps make me filled fulfilled.

Sounds like good times. Hope you enjoy the game(even if they Cardinals lose :p). You're going tonight, right?

I wasn't saying it to be a dick in my last response. I was just going with the flow and joking around since you said I don't have much going for me. Maybe that's true? Hard to say since nobody on here actually knows one another. I really wasn't trying to start anything from the beginning. Sorry I've been fighting with you guys but it was never my intention. I could see how it would be annoying to read over and over again that somebody hates so and so. It's not like I was trying to start crap though.

Anyways... have fun at the game. We can just leave it at that and get this thread back on topic. I'm sure we all look like a bunch of jackasses.

Your obsessive dislike is just tiresome, I suppose. You're either an attention whore or your hatred for the Cardinals goes much deeper than I originally guessed.

Point proven. You claim I'm jealous of the Cardinals because they are good and yet I hate the Cubs. Your logic is flawed in just about every sense.

Oh, please. What a sad argument. Everybody hates the Cubs except Cubs fans. It has nothing to do with their success (or lack thereof) on the field. That's just part of baseball.

Yeah... because there aren't bandwagon fans who pulled for the Cardinals after McGwire hit 70. There aren't fans of Lebron James and Michael Vick either.

Well, if you'd like to put words in my mouth, feel free to continue arguing with yourself. I never said the Cardinals didn't gain some fans during McGwire's run - I just said that it was a terrible time to jump on the bandwagon. After all, bandwagon fans chase winning teams, and at that time the Cardinals were simply not winning.

But, that's neither here nor there. I've been a fan my whole life, which was my point.

You don't play for the Cardinals and yet you act like cheering for them makes you superior to people who cheer for bad teams.

More words being put in my mouth. Shocking. In reality, this is just a manifestation of your inferiority complex. It has nothing to do with me or you - it just means the team I root for is usually better than the team you root for. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'd say so. I have my reasons for hating the Cardinals and it has nothing to do with them being good. It certainly has nothing to do with you. You've resorted to hating the worst team in baseball because of one person on a message board. Truly sad considering I wasn't even talking crap.

The funny part is that I don't even hate the Astros. I thoroughly enjoyed the NLCS battles in 2004 and 2005, but on my list of disliked NL Central teams, the Cubs, Reds and Brewers all come before the Astros.

I'd hate to see your reaction if someone insulted your personal life. Hope they own a bullet proof vest

I mean, it's pretty obvious I'm a violent criminal waiting to crack.

Feel free to get the last word in since I know you'll never let it go and believe you're smarter than you actually are

Thanks, Napoleon.

Here's an idea... stop trying to steal against Molina. Clearly it's not possible in the playoffs. Has anyone stolen yet?

Did that last play just happen? Wow...

Rangers need to find a way to knock that horseshoe out of the Cardinals butt :p

Inning went perfect for the Cardinals. If they don't get the guy stealing and make that dive at first, could have gone the other direction

Rangers just have to avoid giving up runs in the first 3 innings. Got old watching the Brewers get drilled early
