Worley / Dobbs working with Whitfield Jr.

Does Dobbs have a time stoping watch or something. This kid is just amazing not only does he work his ass off in the classrooms. He takes extra steps to become a amazing qb. If Dobbs pshyical ability becomes as good as his intellect he could become one of the best ever.

Another bromance for you?

I'll support whoever wins the job but Dobbs appears to be doing more outside of just what the program offers to replace Worley. Not that long ago you were adamant that Lane was a "starter from day one" and Poole stood no chance. Remember?

If Ferguson is the "guy" then so be it. But YOU have no idea which of the two is better now or who has more upside. The argument is stupid to start with since no one has enough info to make a good argument. The only thing we know for sure is that so far, Worley keeps running out first with the ones and appears to be leading.
"But we like Riley......He looks like a great QB....He has tatts on his arm....He was great in High School"...LOL J/k:dance2:

That was almost a year ago and he said it in a press conference. I don't feel like searching. Do you really think RF would have had his rs blown if Worley was hurt second half of UF game? What if JW and NP were ready the next week? CBJ was gonna waste a rs for a quarter or two? There is no disputing RF has never been ahead on a depth chart or that CBJ has never said RF was ahead. People were going off what TSR speculated . Now TSR says it is Worley number 1 with Dobbs closing the gap and they don't want to believe it.

Please do. I can't find it.

I'm very impressed that Worley and Dobbs both elected to go train with Whitfield on their families own dime. Obviously this training will no doubt benefit them. I'm curious what Ferguson is doing to improve his game. Anyone hear anything regarding Ferguson and what he's doing to improve?

I believe that he's being crucified now so that he can be resurrected and rehab in time for fall practice :)

And in case it hasn't been mentioned yet, he can turn water into Gatorade, and the NCAA rule change allowing unlimited meals and snacks to players is his version of feeding the multitudes

Anyone even consider for a second that maybe RF's family doesn't have the means to pay for a QB guru to tutor their son. Don't know if it's the case but there are a lot of people that seem to love to flame on the kid. He's a VOL!

TWEEEEEEEET! Pontification pomposity!! Penalty, removal of three likes and repost your post as a QB neutral comment.

If there really are Ferguson haters as you claim, they really should leave VN and just go be Gator or Bama fans. That way when they bash a Vols player, it would at least be expected and for cause. Heck, even Gator trolls here have better manners than the Vol hater Vols fans here.

I don't think there are any Riley haters... I think there are a lot of people who hate on the Riley worshipers!!!!

That's pretty much what I was thinking too. But if there are any, well. . . .scoot, ain't needed here. All the same, I think you're right based on posts I've seen. Anyone who less than sings glorious hymns about the Rifleman is somehow evil personified. Personally, much as I am a Dobbs man, I think in Ferguson, we have another Tyler Bray without the 'tude and immaturity. That however, remains to be proven.

barknoxbrawler, I think if the Rifleman is smart, and I do believe he is, he will be using as much time as possible to sync with the receivers. Not being able to or not going to the training camp in California may be a benefit for him. He'd have almost sole access to developing chemistry and timing with the receivers. Would be nice to hear if this is indeed what he's doing.

If you have two starting quarterbacks it usually means you don't have one. I don't want Smelley Garcia in Knoxville. May a top dog emerge and we roll with him.

If I were looking at the QB who would be the best NFL Prospect....based on what we've seen thus far, it would be Dobbs. He has the arm talent and the mobility to make himself an attractive prospect for a team.

He will develop in the mental aspect of the game (ie. reading defenses, quickly going through his progressions and making good decisions). Worley isn't all that impressive in any particular area. Just has more experience, and that's about it.

This is the most sensible post I have seen on the topic yet. Dobbs, while young, looked pretty impressive compared to JW in my opinion and his ability to move was instantly noticed in the Alabama game.

NO ONE has seen Ferguson. Where does all of the confidence in him come from? Not saying he isn't a candidate to start but some posts sound idiotic Ellen staying "God please let RF get the nod."

Worley had experience but his numbers don't spite how many drive killing plays he was responsible for. Took the wind out of Neyland more than once in that GSU game alone.

You mean in mop up... after Bama finally took their foot off the gas... in a game where Worley played with a severely injured hand?

GSU? That helps understand that you have no idea what you are talking about. UT last played a team with those initials in '12. Worley played mop up in a big win.

Worley's leadership and decision making were one of the primary things that kept UT in the games against UGA and USCe. UF might have been a win or a much closer game had Jones not spotted them the 1st half with Peterman.

If you want to compare Worley... compare him to Peterman. THAT is what UT's O looked like early in the season without Worley. Surrounded by playmakers like he should be this year... Worley will likely be given "comeback" player awards.

I have said MANY times that I will support any of the 4. Of all of them, I like Dobbs' game the best. However the shots taken at Worley really get old. Surround Manning with WR's that don't know what routes to run, how to run routes properly, and who drop balls the way UT's WR's did last year... and he won't look a lot better.

I gave you a like, but Manning could get Josh Smith and Cody Blanc to catch balls.

Manning's success doesn't necessarily depend on receivers with elite athleticism. He does require receivers that catch it and who show up where they are supposed to be. Manning probably knows exactly where he's throwing the ball, when he will release it, and how large of a window he will have... before the ball is snapped. Few if any QB's have made a better career of anticipating plays and receivers. Guys like Worley worked with and especially early last fall... would drive Manning insane.

Your funny about Worley. He still stinks like the poo poo. Let's see him not throw passes into the ground.
The defense kpt us in the scar game, not Worley. North bailed him out on a terrible throw.

Been waiting for someone to mention Worley's inaccurate passes. Many times North would have to stop and wait for Worley's pass to arrive. It just appears he does not have the arm strength to drive the ball on deep or even intermediate routes.

That has a lot to do with timing and knowing when to get balls out quicker on different routes. Its not that he can't make the throws. Hopefully working with Whitfield will help that.

Many receivers also dropped very good looking passes from Worley.
