Worley is one good game

Does anyone else feel about Worley like you felt about Crompton before he did well? I see a lot of similarities.

He reminds me so much of Jonathan Crompton. They make the same kinds of bad reads and bad throws (usually overthrown passes with no touch and too much zip).

The only difference is that I think Crompton played scared.

Away from stealing all your hearts because he doesn't look that much different than the QB for Wisconsin and people think he is good...just sayin

Right. Just like Nick Cage is one good movie away from being a decent actor, or John Lennon is one breath away from not being dead.

Worley is so bad he actually makes me miss the Waynesville Wormburner Crompton !!!

Worley may be the worst QB we've ever had. He's definitely in the Top 3 worst.

When they said "QB position is an open competition for playing time" during Fall camp. And Worley was sent out to take snaps game 1.

Keep up or take notes.

Opening a position for competition does not equal saying "he's the best we got." You simply stated what they did with all the positions--open them for competition.

So, either don't be a douche, or just go to bed.

I've been saying this since the first practice videos showed up. I really feel like he's got the potential to be good but he just looks stiff.

Tennessee, Kansas State, Oregon State pick starting QBs

Jones said Worley's experience and ability to take care of the football gave him a slight edge. Worley started three games in place of an injured Tyler Bray in 2011. Worley now must try to replace Bray, who threw for 3,612 yards and 34 touchdowns last season.

"It was a very, very tight race," Jones said. "I thought all four individuals did a great job. I think they all really advanced their growth and development throughout the course of training camp, but we just thought Justin was just a little bit ahead of the other three individuals."

He's inconsistent. He made some really good throws. And he made some throws that made me want to punch a nun. I hope he progresses, but he's shown me very little thus far.

This sums it up. That throw to josh smith for the TD and the 3rd and 15 completion for a 1st down were SEC caliber throws. Theres just too much crap between the good stuff.

Thanks for actually reading what I asked you to provide the first time. Wasn't so hard, was it?

There is a serious problem in Knoxville if Jones isn't starting his best players.

that wasn't what I meant, but I see where you're getting that from what I said. I agree with you. But at the same time, Jones would have been on the hot seat from the get go had he started a true freshman from day 1 that hadn't even participated in spring practice. I believe Worley is the best we've got right now, mainly because no one's seen what the others can do. I think he's just trying to hold on to those redshirts as long as possible. Personally i'd burn one of them now, because A.) we need a year of separation between Dobbs and Ferguson, and B.) until we burn one, we dont' even have a 2nd string QB. We're going to be forced into it sooner than later, I think.
