Worried about MS State

Your quote was that Tenn has played tougher competition than MSU. All I'm saying is that MSU has played just as tough of a schedule so far. They are pretty much a wash so you can't say that our defensive numbers are worse than theirs because we played tougher competition.I'm not trying to be a horses rear, it just jumped out of the screen at me when i saw what you wrote about the competition comparison. And then some guy agreed with you.I had to correct you.

The ratings I am looking at have our opponents rated at 43 and Miss State's at 34.3. That is not a massive difference, but it is a good bit tougher schedule for Tennessee so far this year according to StatFox.

I just want Fulmer, Cut and Chavis to have the guys ready to play. If were looking ahead to Bama, MSU can beat us, and that's why I'm worreid

I don't think we need to overlook anybody just yet. Also,Croom can coach in this league ,but he had to start at the bottom of the barrel (talent wise) and has not done too bad of a job.

i think that's CPF's primary concern going in to this game is the mindset.....

As this season and many others have shown: on any given Saturday....well, you know the rest.

I was at the '86 game in Knoxville where MSU beat us. After the game, standing in the Hilton lobby with some of their fans, they were saying what an incredible thing it was for their program to come to Knoxville and beat UT.

I think you have to be concerned about every game and take it one game at a time, after all you win one game at a time.

We don't need that to happen in Starkville..

Let me say first of all I want and expect UT to win against Miss St. UT coaches need to get them focused and prepared.

I don't know that I am ready to be confident enough to say that it will be a blow out. Our D has only played one good game out of 5 and gives up close to 30+ PPG (minues the UGA game). Miss St. played LSU tough and if they get fired up, they will give us trouble. How quickly everyone has forgotten all the upsets this year and teams like Stanford beating USC.

MSU hasn't played the same type of teams that we have.

Yeah we haven't. LSU, South Carolina, and Auburn suck! That's why it looks like our defense is good. Know what you're talking about before you post. The LSU game is what has brought the defensive rankings down. When you have 7 turnovers by one isiot on the team and your defense stays on the field the whole game, you tend to have alot of scoring. What team better than LSU have you played?

i watched that LSU game and man they just DESTROYED you guys....but, i watched Crooms puppies play against AU and looked alot better, although i think if auburn was to play you again it would be prolly a 3td favor to the war-eagle...miss state has made great improvements in the last couple years...croom has did the best he could with what he had to work with, and IMO he is the reason for zook parting ways in FL....Although you guys have came along way u still have a long way to go

Why don't you read the whole thread before you make an ass of yourself. It's only on the fourth page for cryin' out loud.

This Miss St game could get ugly early--UT's offense will roll up and down the field and put up some many points that Sly Croom will ask Phil Fulmer for mercy.

Well the night before game time

Early week worries have turned, to postive memories from the GA game, where we put 21 points before the band was back in their seats.

Not to worry---this game will be a cakewalk for UT. They need to start thinking about the tougher games ahead with Bama and USC.

Would love to see a repeat performance this weekend but MSU will not be a cake walk. Look for MSU's Dixon to run the ball hard. If Vols hold MSU to under 150 rushing I'll be happy and the VOLS will win.
