What a horrible production so far. Not to mention the number of artists who can't carry a tune without the help of technology.

What I wouldn't give to hear some George, Merle, Vince, or anyone who can actually sing.

Zac Brown band excluded from the above rant.

Country music hasn't been the same since the mid 80's. Its all about the faces and crotches now. New counrty is a joke.

This. All they do is get your average top 40 pop producer and throw in a mandolin and/or violin.

Welcome to "Country" music in the 21st Century.

It's like the Republican primaries in that most of the choices are **** and the few good ones are largely ignored.

Not as many good artists today as there once was. Eric Church is terrible. Doesn't sound country with that stupid nasal voice. I will say though that Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are good at sticking to their roots.

Not to be "that guy", but people today will be saying that today's artists are country and that the artists in 20 or 30 years suck.

Pop-country music sucks now. I shutter to think what it will be like in 20 or 30 years.

Then those people would be idiots. Let's hope things run in cycles and at some point in the future there will be a return to some traditional country music, or at least a return to music artists who can actually sing.

Quite honestly, I don't think it could be too much worse. On my list of terrible music genres modern "Country" is tied with Rap for #1. It sad to see the genre run into the ground by the likes of Taylor Swift and Luke Bryan and their ilk.

It's part of the reason I like the Texas Country genre. It's got a more a traditional and acoustic sound.

Probably not going to happen. Besides, there is still plenty of good country music out there if you're willing to look hard enough, the problem is that popular music is now more of a visual medium than audio.

Any irony in Chesney and McGraw singing a song titled "Feel Like a Rock Star" at a county music awards show?

Rap and any form of electronic music take the cake for worst genre.

And much of the problem with modern pop country is that they're pandering to teenage girls. I still like country because I always have and always will, but I do see the point of those who love the traditional sound and rip on modern country.

Truth. Many of these artists would not be picked to audition for The Voice based on their live performances.

I've seen Eric Church live and trust me, he sounded bad tonight on here. He's good live. I'd say the same for Kenny. Maybe the TV version makes some people sound bad.

Zac Brown Band deserves a lot more attention, too. They're awesome.

Brad Paisley is kinda getting away from his roots. His last great album was "Time Well Wasted."

As far as modern country goes, I'd say I like Eli Young Band, Dierks Bentley, and Chris Young. Thry have a more acoustic-based sound IMO.
