Not as many good artists today as there once was. Eric Church is terrible. Doesn't sound country with that stupid nasal voice. I will say though that Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are good at sticking to their roots.

I'd stick to their roots!!! WAKA WAKA WAKA!!!

I like Taylor but I think the Entertainer of the year should have went to Jason Aldean or Blake Shelton. Taylor had to the biggest tour this past year and it seems like that's usually who gets it anymore. Eric Church sounded bad but have seen hi live and he puts on a great show! Brad Paisley almost seemed like he was sick by his voice and actions. Was glad to see my girl Miranda kick ass and damn I swear Sara Evans just keeps getting hotter!!!!

I agree with literally every word you said. And I'm definitely with you on Eric Church, he's great live. I don't know why he didn't sound good.

Carrie Underwood didn't sound good at all last night IMO. That's surprising because she usually is a great live singer. I could barely even hear her voice over the band.

If it's multiple artists having issues, then it sounds like they hired a bad mixer for the show.

If country just would have started to hit its peak then church, aldean etc would be the cash, merle, waylons and 20 years from now people would say its not the same. I love all the old country and i like the new. So if i like the old why cant yal like the new.

Its gonna be what it is yal need to either listen to it or shut the **** up about it not being what it use to.

And eric church does not suck.

And Eric Church does indeed suck at making Country music.

He's saying that if country music was at its peak of being "country" right now, then Eric Church, Jason Aldean, etc. would be considered the Waylon and Cash of today- the legends, per se. He's also saying he likes the old and the new, which I agree with. I'm pretty cool with all country. And I love Eric's music. He may not be Cash or Waylon or Merle or Willie or so on, but then again, those guys are legends. If you like the old sound, give Jamey Johnson a shot. He's got the perfect sound from the Outlaw era. Gritty and true to his roots.

Jamey Johnson is awesome. He the closest thing to a mainstream Country artist that I listen to now. And he's one of the only artists (of any genre) whose albums I can listen to from beginning to end without skipping a song.

He is REALLY good. A buddy of mine told me about him and I got hooked.

Dustin Lynch is a new artist with a more traditional sound. His debut single "Cowboys and Angels" just cracked the Top 30 on the charts a couple of weeks ago and his album should launch in the summer.

My favorite country album I've heard among 2012 releases so far is Kellie Pickler's "100 Proof."

Yeah you fall in the shut the **** up category.

Jamey johnson is good though so ill hold off on calling you a moron.

Also, why do you think EC is horrible at making country music? Lyrics, voice, both?

I haven't heard EC live other than on the show the other night, but if that is indicative of his singing talent then he is much closer to Kris Kristofferson than Cash or Haggard. There are a number of songs I like from today's country music genre, my comments were mainly concerning the lack of true singing talent. As an example, I like a lot of Rascal Flats songs but I would never pay to hear them sing live.

I'll vouch for Eric. I've heard all of his albums countless times, and I've seen him live. I'm a HUGE fan of his. With that said, his performance the other night did not sound good... at all, in all honesty. That was not indicative of his singing talent. I say the same thing about Kenny after having seen him live. They just sound bad on TV for some reason.

It's good to know you've determined who has a right to voice their opinions.

Eric Church's voice is fine. His songs are just run-of-the-mill trashville country. I will give him credit for being one of the less bad ones, though.

I like his songs that don't play on the radio much more. "Sinners Like Me" and "Those I've Loved Along the Way" are two of my favorites of his. Have you heard those, by chance? "Drink in My Hand" is good, but it's an overplayed theme. You'd like those other two songs much more, I think.

I don't think I've heard them. Might have give them a try.
