Worst officiated game in Tenn history

You just assume many of us have never officiated or watched years and years of basketball?

I just don’t agree with them not being subject to the press after games. Coaches have to answer them and try to explain, and their jobs are on the line, too.

When these guys have been doing it for years, there truly is no accountability.
And for the other poster, major sports are PUBLIC events where all the revenue is generated by TV, radio and fan attendance. Your analogies are totally misguided.

John Higgins and Padilla are officiating the USC-Auburn game right now. This is part of the problem. Back to back days. 7:30 game in Tucson to LA at 2:30 the next day.

Do people who've never read the rulebook, officiated the game, gone to rules clinics, taken exams on the rulebooks, etc that are applicable to your job have a say in if you're fired? Doubt it.

Ah yes, the: "We are the experts, how dare you question us, you ignorant plebe!" argument.

The short answer to your disingenuous question is, yes! None of the people who would make the decision to terminate my employment have relevant technical expertise for my responsibilities. What they have is the ability to see the eventual results of my work and enough sense to assess whether I am effective. That is pretty common. There are similarly plenty of folks capable of assessing officiating crews who are not officials. In fact letting officials do it is what has gotten us in this mess!

Just in, CJH has offered lessons to coach Barnes and Harper on how to disagree with poor officiating….

It’s basketball. It’s the most arbitrarily officiated sport on the planet. What is a foul in one instance is not in another. It’s always been that way and always will be. That’s why it will never be as popular as football. One reason, at least.

Yep, & announcer will tell you why it was not a foul & then the next week same situation the announcer will tell you why you got to call that a foul. Sometimes it almost seems like they’re making it up as they go but you either go with it or decide to walk away as a fan. Don’t get me started on charging or restricted line.😡

Exactly. Which makes it hard to trust basketball. A game could easily be fixed , but we wouldn’t know because a fixed game looks just like a regular game or, at worst, a poorly called game like Saturday night.

The basketball game was bad enough but not as bad as what the Refs did to Washington against the NY Giants. The fix looked like it was in on that one too.

Anybody that doesn't think officials gamble on the games they call is insane, naive, or maybe a little of both.

Officials are getting worse and worse. I understand missing close judgment calls, but we're seeing games across all sports where the most basic, easiest calls are blown.

That was literal theft, some of the worst I have seen on back to back plays
