simple solution, you dont make the grades you dont get the money. plain and simple

there's an old saying that A and B students work for C students.

however, while some successful people may not necessarily make good grades; people that make good grades are more likely to be successful.

I still have a recurring dream that I have simply forgotten to attend one of my college classes and I'm now too far behind to pass. Had it in college and it still continues. I would definitely appreciate this in my dream

Not sure why the OP refers to this as "Big Brother". It cracks me up that as someone who is paying good money (or your parents are paying) would call an attendance tracker "Big Brother". Hell, they did it in Elementary, Middle and High School. What's wrong with the same concept in college?

Some of the comments below the article referred to it as Big Brother. My only point with it is, it's not fool proof. What's going to stop someone from skipping class and giving their card to a buddy to clock them in?

Nothing. I had a class that did something along these lines. The teacher would ask questions throughout the class and you would answer it with an electronic device. It served two purposes. 1) It essentially took attendance and 2) counted as a quiz grade. I hated the class and already knew most of the material. So me and a buddy would alternate days going to class giving each other the device to answer the quiz questions throughout the class. Made an A+ in there and went to roughly half the classes.

To me its simple you paid the money already. If you fail, you fail and lose your scholarship or your parents stop paying for you. Luckily I went through school based upon a scholarship of merit and paid the rest out of pocket.

My thinking is that there is no reason NOT to be successful for most students. I mean, most are fully capable of making at least a B if they put in the work. So if they aren't willing to put in the work now, that lack of work ethic will continue to be an issue in their professional careers.
