He couldn't even hire a competent OC not named Cutcliffe. What makes you think he could hire Gruden?!

Good lawd.
Some have a short memory of Fulmer not being able to compete in the SEC

75% winning percentage and longest tenure of any current sec coach at time of dismissal.

He OWNED bama, Uga, south Carolina, and everyone else except Florida.

The grass is not always greener but fans got spoiled and HAD to have a new coach. I'm guessing your one of those fans that has no freaking idea how great fuller was and what he brought to the program. We're in the sec championship game the year before he left because he was on a "downward spiral" . Give me a break.

Ah, yes! The good ole days! How we long for the return of Chavis so we can watch his mustang defense give away game after game. No lead was safe no matter how large it was. And good ole Phil! Look how much money the bail bonding businesses have lost since he left. I think he even had his own office at the Knoxville Police Department since he had to go there nearly every day because his gangsters couldn't be good citizens. Have to hand it to him he sure could bring in the worst of society. He had a knack for that.

I believe we need a Tennessee guy in some sort of capacity in the athletic department. Whether it be as AD or head coach. I am not promoting Fulmer for head coach so please do not take it that way all though I would not mind Cutcliffe coming in to clean up this mess.

Cutcliffe is an Alabama guy. By that thought process, we'd have never brought him in to be an assistant.

No!!!!

He bleeds Tennessee Orange but the fact is that he's NOT even close to being qualified to be a AD and run a multi-Million $$$$ business which is what the AD at Tennessee is.

Gruden will NEVER be the coach at Tennessee so get off the drinking and drugs and let that pipedream go.

VFL...GBO!!!

Of all the times against Bama, when they were ranked Phil had a losing record against them not to mention during those years were probably some of the darkest times for Bama. You have to look at the big picture. The Dawgs and Cocks were closing ground on Phil and Spurrier was about to start owning Phil at USCe.

\No one got spoiled and this 2007 season you speak of can be credited to Cutcliffe. Phil struggles in 2005, brings back Cut for 2006-2007 seasons, we get hammered by our 2 biggest rivals but somehow make it to the SECCG where we lose. In 2008 without Cut it was the same losing product that was on the field in 2005. You are aware the last SEC championship we won was in 1998.

yes we were in the SEC Championship game the year before he left.
Lets take a look at 2007 SEC East Division Championship team.
Cal 45 TN 31
FL 56 TN 20
AL 41 TN 17
LSU 21 TN 14

TN 27 SC 24 OT
TN 25 vandy 24
TN 52 KY 50 4 OT

Yep 2007 Fulmer won the east after getting blowed out by FL and Bama and beating SC, Vandy and KY by a combined total 6 points after 5 overtime periods.
