SEC is head and shoulders above the Big Ten, but the Big Ten is still leagues better than the utter trash conference that is the Big 12. A bottom feeder in the Big Ten blew out the Big 12’s likely conference champ earlier this year. BYU and Colorado would be in a war for their lives every week against the likes of Minnesota and Maryland, let alone Washington, USC, and such. By the time you get to the upper tier forget about it.

Maybe. I'm not sure the Big 10 rank & file is that much better than the Big 12 or ACC, but since those conferences have been further dumbed down adding awful teams and the Big 10 inherited Pac 12 schools that are mostly among their best, you might be right.

The bad to mediocre teams you are referencing would all be top 3 teams in the ACC and Big 12.

The fact that SMU is on top of the ACC in their first year after spending the last couple decades in the AAC, CUSA and WAC says all I need to know.
