Would you be happy with these 5 guys?

I would trade all of them for 2 decent OL prospects... so no, I won't be happy if those guys sign and Phillips goes elsewhere without being replaced.

Is it true that his girlfriend is going to UGA ? if so, then all bets are off, young love has led many a man down the wrong path...:)

I believe that is true. But think about it, the kid is entering his first year of college. A long distance relationship is the best kind to have at that time in his life.

I would be thrilled with those five. If we don't get MB, who should I point the finger at, Crompton for being so bad at QB or Clawson for putting Crompton in such a bad system. If he doesn't pick UT, it has to be b/c of the QB issue. Marlon if you are reading this, I promise you we are not as bad at QB as everybody thinks and you will be a star at UT regardless of who is throwing you the ball come September.

I agree that we are very thin on OL in this class based on our needs. I think Quinton Washington might be our best shot. I don't feel good about any of the others, do you?

yeah...I'd be happy as a pig in....well, you know. But I'm sure half of this board would call that a huge disappointment and that CLK and co. got out-recruited by Auburn of all places.

No it doesn't. Many think he ends up at UGA in large part because of Richt's Christian testimony. I'd give this particular kid a little more credit than being that short sighted. Even if none of the current guys can get him the ball (which I personally don't buy), UT is likely to get a hot shot next year.

Now the OL is an entirely different situation... he could be looking at that.

I honestly think it was Clawsons system that made our QB's look so bad.

I have stated that from day one.

You don't know how bad it makes me feel to be this hopeless and negative. Some people relish in it... but I don't. I'm normally a positive, hopeful person. But it will be a big surprise to me if UT signs more than Revis and Schofield. I'd love for Phillips to win the argument with his step dad and sign with UT but I'm not holding out much hope....

IMHO, if UT ends up with a top 15 class that doesn't include at least 3 but preferrably 4 OL's... it can't be considered a success.

Everyone will celebrate of course and talk about better days around the corner but the best skill players in the country are nothing without a good OL and DL.

I think we have a legit shot at all of these:

Marlon Brown
Marsalis Teague
Darren Myles
Dequinta Jones
Sam Montgomery

Those are my top 5 guys on the bubble that we pull on Wednesday.

Thoughts?

I would be very happy with those 5.

I am going to say that we only get one of those guys. Myles, Jr. or Brown. No way we get more than 2.

NSD is going to be really, really, really slow and agonizing for Vol fans. :(

The last sentence is a fact that seems to be lost on some but we have a few young OL on the roster that may be able to get us through til next years class when we have more time to land the big time OL and DL. I'm disappointed in our lack of them in this class too but I'm not pushing the panic button yet.

Why do you think that Rex? Don't you think he's headed to Maryland?

I think that odds are he ends up at Maryland because his folks are pushing him that way. However, why hasnt he gone ahead and pulled the trigger for them? I think its because he's hoping his parents get off his back and let him decide. He's stuck between wanting to please them and go the the Hill.

nice attitude :nono:

There a problem with being realistic? Recruiting is no more about where a kid can learn the most, prepare himself the best, or get the best education...it's about 'relationships'.

Wednesday is gonna be rough.

IMO...
Montgomery, Jones, Myles, Lacy are coming.
