Would you be happy with this staff?

I'd be OK with it... As others have said... I'd like to see Tee come back and more firepower on the defensive coaching side.

The team of coaches is crucial... they all have to buy into his vision and style of coaching. Every coach unified and on the same page.

... oh and recruit like mad.

HC - Jones
OC/QB - Mike Bajakian
OL - Don Mahoney
RB - Jay Graham
WR - T.J. Weist or Tee Martin - Weist has told people he is coming already
TE - Mark Elder - Jones' TE/Special teams coordinator at Cincy

DC - John Jancek
DL - Steve Stripling
DB - Willie Martinez

1 other defense coach to be hired

Find a place for Tee Martin and this is ok. I sure hope the special team coach is good. And he can teach out kicker and punter how to kick the da** ball

Appears to be much better than the two groups of coaches Dooley had. Results should also be better.

I think a lot of people don't want just better than Dooley's staff or to be better than the last 3 years. They want UT to do whatever it takes to be on par with LSU, Bama, Florida and Georgia.

Well, CBJ is a liar if this is his staff. HE promised the best staff in the country. That list doesn't even look like the 2nd best staff in the SEC.

How would you know. Are you smarter because you can call Him a liar.

How would you know that it is the BEST staff in the country? If he brings in most of his Bearcats staff, then we will have a Big East staff, hardly the best staff in the SEC. Are you smarter because you will believe everything somebody, who is trying to get you to buy into himself being a great hire, says?

The truth is ... nobody really knows. This very well could be the best staff in America, or it could be the 5th best staff in the SEC East?

Time will tell. We brought CBJ in. He is going to bring in a staff that is in-tune with his system and what he's trying to accomplish. He believes in his system ... that doesn't make him a liar, it just makes him someone with a different opinion than most of us have.

It may not be the best staff in America on paper, but chances are, it is going to be the best staff to get us moving in the right direction. Everyone, from the top down, needs to be on the same page. I believe this staff will be. We will have an up-tempo offense and a defense committed to taking the ball away. And coaches who all agree on the best way to tranlate this equation into wins. GBO!!

Are we trying to become Cincy? They weren't exactly the best team in America, so why just move that coaching staff here? There are better coaches out there and we can afford them.

Too bad Brian Kelly took so much of his staff with him to Notre Dame. Poor guy might have actually done well at Notre Dame if he got some 'real' coaches. And that Off Coordinator that coached with him before and he brought from mighty Grand Valley State. Here is some reality, you have no idea how these coaches will do once they have the resources they will have at their disposal at UTK. One guy that might know, Coach Jones. Staff continutity and knowledge of the system is severly underappreciated here. Jones, Graham, Martinez, Thigpen, and Martin (hopefully) will have our recruiting plenty of punch.

Now I'm not saying this is the best staff in the country, you need the staff that works together the best, not necessarily the best coaches at their positions. It's all about the cohesiveness of the staff. Give it a chance before becoming the legion of the miserable.

One thing Notre Dame fans found out was how important chemistry is to a coaching staff. When Kelly took over, many fans were not pleased with the "small timey" Big East staff that he brought with him. Weis' staff was much bigger on "star power" but there were always rumors of fighting between coaches and the results proved it.

I think you're better off with Butch bringing in a core of his guys. From what I've heard of Jones' practices, they are extremely up tempo and it takes some time for the players to adjust. The same would be true of the coaches if they did not have any experience with him. At the end of the day, Butch is your man, mine as well go all in with him.

No, no, impossible. Only way to win at football is with assistant coaches that UT fans know about becaue they are superstars. Everybody else in the coaching profession is an idiot that has no idea what he is doing.
