Would you take a vandy loss for a Georgia win? And if that scenario played out, would we be in the cfp?

The Big Ten could realistically get four teams in the playoffs to only three for the SEC with a clearly weaker conference and weaker teams at the top. It's the nature of having only four good teams in an eighteen team conference.

The hope is the Vols win out, but consider the case of Georgia. They would have 3 losses to 3 potential playoff teams, and have wins over a borderline playoff team Clemson and Texas.

If OSU drills Indiana and then loses to Oregon, does Indiana get in along with Penn State? Does Penn State play Pittsburgh this year? NM, I will look it up

Edit: No

Without looking it up, and trust me I've looked at the Big Ten weak schedules a lot I don't think PSU and Pitt play this year. I also think the committee will be looking for a reason to keep Indiana out because of no quality wins against any of the top 8 teams in the Big 10.

While it might feel good to bet UGA, losing to Vandy would make getting into the playoffs just as difficult. Give the number of 10-2 teams will let the league office choose who they want and justify it with their own rationale.

I mean, yeah, if we’re only thinking playoffs. But let’s just beat both and go show Texas what SEC football really is in Atlanta instead.

What if Indiana beats OSU and then Oregon?😯

Penn State is freaking way overrated. They haven't played anyone but OSU. The escape at SC doesn't rate that well anymore

Absolutely not. Why? Because at least with a loss to UGA there is a small chance make it into the playoff. Nico being questionable, UGA playing for their life on the road in a tough SEC environment. If we were to lose the playoff committee COULD see those reasons and still let us in.

A loss to Vandy 100% keeps us out of the playoffs. We will be at least a double digit favorites against them. Now in my heart would I trade a Vandy loss for a UGA win? Without hesitation. I want to see us lay a beat down on UGA like they have never seen. But for the sake of success this year? No way.

I think we are out of the playoffs either way, given how the committee moved teams in front of us this past week. They are already setting the narrative that we will be the 10-2 SEC team that doesn't make it in if several finish with 2 losses. So in that case I'm absolutely taking the win over UGA. Need to end that streak.

But, let's go ahead finish 11-1 though.

It appears there are no great teams in college football this year. Every team is vulnerable against several teams. Health is the key.
Parity is seeping in quickly. Just like the NFL already in some detail. 5 star LTs aren't waiting to play anywhere anymore. They transfer to another P4 where they play immediately and get a better NIL deal

It’s obvious that strength of schedule means nothing.

This is our first playoff game. That simple, lose and go home. Win and everything is possible. This is 2024 and the season rides on going and playing the game. The way you are taught and with great passion and a warrior intensity. When its over its over. Let the best team with the most execution and fight reap the rewards!
Well said!
