Would You Trade Knowing What You Know Now - Bama for Georgia

Ending that streak was worth it. While losing to UGA takes some of the post season out of our control I still think the Bama win was huge for the program.
I said at the time that beating Ga would be better for the season but beating Bama would be better for the program. So I agree with you.

It’s a loser’s mentality to come up with torturous hypotheticals like this.
Alabama fans don’t sit around playing “would you rather” games in which the end result is something less than. I’ve done this type of exercise myself, but I think that’s from years of sucking. It’s now ingrained in us that we aren’t allowed to be #1.

If the fanbase was able to trade, we would have ended up with a 9-3 year with losing to one of our toss ups and beating one of UF Bama and UGA. Because I know very well if forced to vote most of us would have taken that. How I’m glad we don’t have the ability to do that.

No. The Bama win is the best Tennessee game I've seen in my life.

Also our best chance at the CFP could arguably Bama over UGA. IF (we won't) lost to UGA closely, we are more likely to make it the playoff than if we lost to Bama, beat UGA and had to play Bama again. If we didn't beat Bama at home, we wouldn't beat them on a neutral site later in the year.

I don't necessarily agree with that final comment, each game is its own entity - that's like saying "we beat ____ and they lost to _____, therefore we should win".

To me, our only shot at the CFP if we don't win Saturday is for Georgia to run the table. We will have closed with three wins and have a win over Alabama with our only loss coming to 'unbeaten' Georgia. Bama with two losses will be out, and it will come down to us vs. Clemson, TCU, Ohio State, Michigan, and possibly USC. Only one of OSU-Michigan gets in, and Clemson and TCU only have a chance if they are unbeaten. USC running the table would be a problem.

How about we just win out to make all of that irrelevant? That'll work.

Regarding the OP's question, there's not even a question that you take the Alabama win. Not only does it get that monkey off our back and finally beat Saban, but moments like that in sports are so rare and create so many memories, you don't trade them for anything. That's one of those moments that you look back on in 20, 30, 40 years and know exactly where you were when it happened. Incredibly rare.

Hell, I still look back at the 1982 Alabama game I was at like it was yesterday, remember being on the field and carrying that goal post out of Neyland, the all night party, everything. You never trade those moments in life, regardless of how rational and logical an alternative might seem.

As much as I hate UGA, I gotta go with beating the Gumps....in Neyland and watching Little Nicky's face. Priceless.

Nope. It may have been the most meaningful game to the players as well. If so, that means they will be playing loose in Athens. UF and Bama were the two bigger monkeys and those are gone now. Cruise control the rest of the regular season.
