It won't ever happen. Why would he leave Auburn? He has probably the best team in the nation at present, is becoming a legend at Auburn, starting to get the 5 stars to a team that historically seldom even made the tournament, has players like Kesler calling in and wanting to be coached by him and he produces there.

Summary- I’m glad Volnation is not representative of UT fans as a whole and very glad we won’t ever have to self-impose under Coach Barnes.

Vol Nation is actually much more pro-Barnes than more casual fans, 90 percent of whom I speak with would love to have Pearl back.

I wouldn't call them friends, just people who loved Pearl's personality and love the style of play. Casual fans don't care about the NCAA and that he lied to Mike Hamilton. Most people don't clutch pearls like a 1950s school marm over NCAA violations.

I would love to have Bruce back, but it's never going to happen. Better to spend our time discussing who comes after Barnes.

Their success here isn't dissimilar in the post season. Each also seem/seemed to underachieve vs assembled talent a few times. Each had results that people who particularly like Barnes here, should be satisfied with.

I prefer a good NCAA run, personally. Jerry was probably the best of the 3 combining both. 4 20+ win seasons, two 12-4 SEC 1st place seasons, though one was a tie. He was just too mouthy at a time he had an underachieving season.

Auburn was 14-2 the first year that Jerry went 12-4 and 3 other teams also went 12-4 the second time.

I forgot, we were East winners that first year and 2nd overall, it was before they did away with divisions. The second 12-4 was a tied title like 2018 but we were the #1 seed in the SEC T.

Yes. Outright SEC “champion” in 1998-99 and a 3-way tie for the East in 1999-2000. Then he was fired after going 8-8 and finishing 4th in 2000-01 with one of the best rosters ever. Preseason #9, climbed to #4 and finished that season unranked. Said something stupid about TN fans being Kmart shoppers.
