As I think about Bray standing tall enough to see over the line and I think about the potential guys he has to throw to in one class...

Da'Rick Rogers Ht:6'3"; Wt:206 lbs; 40:4.4 secs; Vertical:41 inches
Markeith Ambles 6-2. Weight: 182. 40-Yard Dash: 4.58
Justin Hunter 6-feet-4, 175 pounds, with 4.4 speed in the 40 plus a 40-inch vertical
Matt Milton Ht:6'6"; Wt:192 lbs; 40:4.57 secs

Can anyone link to the size of the CBs in our league? 6 feet and shorter lots of them right?

I cannot wait for Cody Riggs or Nickell Robey to try to stop a ball thrown high in the end zone without pass interference.

We have a slew of guys who are physically very much like if even a bit taller than Carl Pickens Height: 6-2 Weight: 206 Kelley Washington Height: 6 ft 3 in, Weight: 218 lb and Robert Meachem Height: 6-2 Weight: 214 lbs.

If all 3 guys decide to commit to the same class, Dooley will have better weapons at WR than any team we play for at least 2-3 years. It is like if Marlon Brown, Patrick Turner and Julio Jones all decided to play together.

When Buffallo had Peerlesss Price and Eric Moulds, they could not be stopped. Lets make that duo a trio...

I agree MHF..CB's in the league would have a very difficult time covering that group(if we get them). I think all of them might be one of the most complete WR classes ever..Ambles(5 Star) is a technically sound reciever with the ability to come in and contribute immediately, Milton is a 6'6 4 Star that is highly underrated, Rogers(5 Star) and Hunter(4 Star) are just pure athletic freaks(6'3+,4.4 speed, 40+ in. vertical) with nothing but upside, and also dont forget about Meline(4 Star)...it is very likely he be switched to corner, but if not I believe he has the speed to be a deep threat in the SEC aka Denarius Moore..This reciever class would have basically every kind or type of WR you could ask for that you could use in any type of set or formation...So if we pull these recruits, I believe UT will be WR U.

Also not to be picky MHF, but I don't know if I'd use Moulds and Price as my number one example for WR duos...(Fitzgerald, Bolden....Moss, Welker..)

Still have to put on the uniform and for it to mean something to them. In all that is what has been missing not enough heart. I like this Miller kid just on that merit. He stayed tall and stayed put for him and Smith are and seem sincere Tennessee Vols!! This is what is needed. To be a true champion one must have the heart and fight of one.

flowd, I agree with your examples of duos, just none of those had UT players involved :)

I thought K Washington would be used with Ocho Cinco but it did not really happen.

The above group would be the NFL equivalent of having 3 #1s and that does not happen in the NFL due to salary. The closest example right now is Arizona. Kurt Warner was a great QB, but he was not tall enough to see over the line.

I do not know if you guys have ever watched the helmet cam stuff, but it is amazing to see how much a guy like Warner had to wait until he took his drop and how impeded his view is.

Taller is not always better, and Nance may have a better career than Bray, but Bray will have a huge advantage looking downfield and looking for the white helmet with the Orange T that is separated most from the smurfs in Red and Black or ugly orange and blue.

Well as much as I agree heart is great and I love people with that to be on the team, I still would take a team full of 5 Stars over a team full of Rudys..The teams getting the 4 and 5 stars and getting the top 3 classes year in and out(Alabama and Florida) are the ones kicking our butts. I'm getting sick of other SEC teams holding up the national championship trophy at the end of the year. I'm ready for it to be our turn again. And the fact is heart is great, but without playmakers you're not going to win championships. Saban and Meyer are getting the 5 Stars at Florida and Alabama and they are winning championships because of it..It is our turn now..Dooley needs to pull in these 5 Star WR's to go with the already good class, and start early for a top 3 2011 class.

That's all good. If we don't have the big boys on the OL to block won't matter... DD needs to get some OL in there in this class

You need coaching and players. It's a combo of the Xs and Os and the Jimmies and Joes

No. Peerless was not tall.

When I listed tall UT WRs I did not list Peerless, I did not list Donte Stallworth.

When I listed tall guys I also did not list Nash because he was tall but I think he went to the CFL after college.

Peerless Price was a burner teamed with a tall guy.

Cardinals are Doucet 6'0, Bolden 6'1 and Fitzgerald 6'3.

If we have this class, Ambles and Rogers on the field at once are like two Larry F.

Almost all teams that are very good have 1 shut down corner. With this WR class, we can always have a mismatch every single time.

yes true however a team full of 4 and 5 stars attitudes means trouble. There are alot of 4 stars out there. Rogers and Ambles seems to be prima donna already and could stink up a damn good team. If Dooley gets one or both and can drop the attitude quickly then should be ok. If not total disaster. I think next year will be one test after the other.

I want good OL, but at La Tech, they kept the QB from getting sacked by scheme often even though their OL was mismatched against the opponent DL (see LSU vs. La Tech tape) in a way that will never happen at UT.

You are saying you want two Kelley Washington players physically, but not two guys named the Future. I agree with that, although I think that Kelley was a hard worker and was not a cancer in the way people claim.

Top WR's often end up being called showboats and prima donnas. T Owens and Ocho Cinco have not helped that reputation.

Julio Jones was dramatically underused but I did not see him crying about it this year. I think Dooley can keep attitudes in check. For that matter I think Mark Richt did a good job keeping M Brown from becoming a distraction this year, and you can bet that everyone I listed in this class (except possibly Milton) will have more catches than Brown did unless they get in trouble.

Every dog has his day... check the Nevada and Utah State results... it does no good to point to a highlight in the abstract.

Many teams don't even have a 6'6" Milton or a Rodgers...we haven't. It's going to be mighty difficult for teams to have to choose how to defend 2-3 No.1 WR's.

We were able to double team AJ Green and keep him out of the picture last year. Can't do that when you have 2-3 AJ Green's to defend. That is going to create some terrible problems for defenses. Peyton Manning showed last week how to exploit mismatches, when the starting CB for the Jets, opposite of Revis, got injured...and his backup came in.

The Patriots exploited the weaknesses in the Titan's secondary (which was riddled with injuries)...to the tune of 59-0. So, with that much talent at the WR position, there will be some significant mismatches to exploit. One of the WR's will have a field day, on any given Saturday.
What's more, is that the most explosive teams in the league seem to have a 2-3 headed monster at the WR position. This is why the Titans have been unable to achieve elite status in the league...they have failed to draft WR's high and have tried to settled on budget rental WR's. Then you look at the Cardinals, Saints, and Vikings...they have more than one elite WR on the field. This is precisely why I think the Titans need to draft Dez Bryant in the 1st Rd (I think he's the next Andre Johnson at WR), if they have any real Superbowl aspirations.

The above is a quote from Tennacious from 1 am this morning. I did not see it before starting my thread, but I agree with everything he said.

I hope Robey stays with Georgia and becomes the number 2 corner on the field with Boynkin #1. That is 5-9 and 5-10 corners matching up with us.

Big time players must make big time plays in order for you to win. X's and O's put the players in a position to make plays. The players must make the play. JMO
