We have so many experts on this board, surely we should have hired them because they know more than any coach we've hired.

Lets let Coach Butch Jones hire HIS staff as he sees it. It doesn't matter how many Allstar coaches you hire, if they don't fit the scheme or have chemistry it will be a failure.

Lets support our coach and University because all the *****ing in the world is not going to change the coach.

I'll get flamed for pointing this out, but I haven't missed a game in 21 years so I've seen both ends of the spectrum. We had our fair share of ignorant and irrational fans in our hay day as well. It blows my mind really. If you're a true fan of a program you should support them no matter what. It's really easy to call yourself a huge fan when they're lighting teams up. I'm not saying overlook the bad...just air on the side of optimism when they're trying to rebuild the program. If you are not wired that way then simply jump ship and go pull for whoever the hot team of the week is! Just don't mistake yourself for a "true fan" of any program.

Do you realize that many people wanted Coach K fired at Duke after his first few seasons there? Whomever the A.D. was decided to give him more time.

Do you realize that people wanted Cowher fired from the Steelers, when they were posting 9 -7 records due mostly to poor q.b. play by Cordell Stewart. It is good that the Rooney's stood by him.

Do you realize that the coach of the Knicks almost didn't give Lin a chance. At the last moment, he decided to take him off the bench and give him some playing time before his 10 day contract expired.

So you believe the best recruits research the message boards of the schools they may be interested in and if the posters are negative they take those schools off the list?

Dang - if I knew I had that kind of power I would have used it years ago before the Clawface and not have to seen that mess and loss to Wyoming. I might have been the one fan that changed the whole trajectory of sorry ass football at UT and helped it miss Kiffin, Hamilton, Dools, Hart, Nuke, BB, JJ, Duh-rick and company.

FWIW the top guys don't come to UT because the team has been losing a lot. That means the players and the coaches are not very good as a team. It's really that simple. Negative responses are just that - responses to negative actions taken by others.

But Dave Hart has it all figured out. Just ask him.

So you think being negative about every thing and getting the coach on the hot seat helps recruiting ? Do you really think the kids do not come to the web sites to learn about a school they are interested in? Sounds like you have an excuse for every occasion!

He "sat on his can the 1st week" because his top 4 candidates all had regular season games or conference championship games to coach in that week and weren't interested in talking until those games were over.

I dont understand either. Losing, dooley, sunseri, kiffin, clawson, and attrition. Those should make you angry but not negative. Butch can get it done, i say dont stone him until he fails. 4 years of .500 football and 1 season where Fulmer fell a** backwards into an SEC title game along with the last three head coaches blowing smoke up our collective a**es tends to put a damper on things.

Forgive me if I will wait to see how recruiting pans out and how competitive we are the first half of next season before effusing praise upon Jones and Hart.
