Funny how Rivals and 247 see things different

One thing I've learned is that the VQ mods basically suck at "evaluating" players. They do it every year where they say this guy or that guy is having a strong camp or showing out, or vice versa... only for that player to not do anything.

Great to see these positive reviews. He struggled at times at The Opening in 1 on 1s in part because he hadn't seen that kind of talent in this area. He has had a tendency to be a little lackadaisical in HS because he is just bigger and stronger than most kids he plays. Those were my concerns for him, but hearing these positive reports about his dominance has been encouraging for his immediate future if he were forced to play early on next fall.

Top target Darnell Wright had an up and down day Sunday, but the 5-star tackle was simply dominant at times today. After practice, Wright admitted he got his legs under him more today after not doing much the last two months. Wright was more aggressive during individual drills but his competitiveness and raw talent really showed during 1-on-1s. Lining up at left guard and right tackle, Wright only lost a rep or two. At right tackle, he beat Alabama DE Justin Eboigbe handily twice before Eboigbe got the best of him with an inside spin move on the final rep. He also bested Charles Moore (Mississippi State DE commit) and Savion Jackson (NC State signee) a couple times at left guard. Wright is slated to start at LG in the game on Jan. 3.
