'19 WV OL Darnell Wright (Tennessee signee)

I think it’s great he’s showing the home school respect. We’ve had a few elite guys leave TN over the past years without a sniff at us. Even if it’s a long shot you always get these kids to campus. As much as I wish he’d shut it down I think by not visiting Georgia or Bama and showing respect to WVU I still feel somewhat confident.

I hope he’s a lock like everyone says. We really need him and he would solidify this class towards the upper eschelon.

Wright does have some bad weight, but in some ways that’s better then the alternative. That’s what scares the analysts cause they read to much into it. His hands are already well ahead of most linemen coming out of high school and the college game is very much a hands and feet game. He also has a strong vertical set. Doesn’t have that mauler run blocking game yet, but that will come. The kid who pancakes everyone in high school by getting low and not using his hands it much harder to translate to college game. Wright will not only be good at college level but has tools to be a top pro as well. Great prospect imo.

Wright and Morris looked fantastic to me in the all star game I watched. Both very much capable of being day 1 starters

Agree, neither was dominated by anyone. You could have thrown Richmond in there and the DL on the other team would be a top 10 ranked player in the country now.

Agree. Wright has very fast, violent hands. Love the way he moves his feet. He almost glides.

Darnell Wright really took his time with recruiting. The five-star offensive tackle has a long list of offers, as he is one of the more sought-after prospects in this class. But he was not one that got out too much and there was talk that he could sign without ever taking one official visit. He is the only top prospect in any state that is not committed or signed. At least he is not committed publicly. Wright finally took his first official visit this weekend to West Virginia. New head coach Neal Brown has come in and made a push for Wright, but it still looks like the Mountaineers are not a true contender. It is still hard seeing anyone contending with Tennessee in this race. Jeremy Pruitt and his staff have done an excellent job recruiting Wright, and the Vols are the clear favorite. Still, although some have already put the Power T next to Wright’s name, there will be a lot of buzz around him and he is a major storyline heading up to signing say.
