they put the WCW belt on Benoit, so I'm not sure what else they could do to show they thought he was a top of the card guy. Those guys may have gotten bigger in WWE, but it was Bischoff that was giving airtime to cruiserweights and lucha libre guys in the mid 90s while Vince was infatuated with big men.

Yep, I liked the cruiserweight division. That, Sting, and nWo was why i liked WCW more than WWE.

The cruiserweights were an awesome idea and waa easily the best thing about WCW..but it still ultimately held them down. Jericho was res hot and was setting up a Goldberg fued and they jobbed him so hard. That was a clear statement that they necer really saw him as a main eventer. and well I seriously forgot Benoit ever held that title honestly. I seriously can't remember this. Crazy lol

That crowd for Smackdown last night was horrible!!

It was an okay show! Split Personality Kane is awesome! Heel Paige is good and it looks like Natty is finally going to be relevant again!

I'm digging this split personality Kane as well. I didn't see them going this route, but it's working and they can get a decent run out of it.

Split Personality Kane allows for a whole lot of possibilities. Including the Wyatts getting the demon version on their side (something that should've happened ages ago) as well as the possibility of a Kane vs Kane end to his own career, which would be very fitting considering he's really the last of these "mythic" 1990's guys who had powers and strange gimmicks.

Taker and Sting don't apply to this naturally.

I'd certainly give Bischoff some credit for guys like Booker T, DDP, and Scott Steiner (not to mention Goldberg). You could argue the Giant Show as well.

You could also make an argument that Hall/Nash/Hogan were more entertaining under his watch.

They're shooting a documentary on his ranch this week. With all the work he's been doing with WWE recently, pretty sure he will be in this next HOF class. They should probably put Billionaire Ted in eventually too.

Watching the replay, I would bet cash money that a significant amount of the crowd noise you hear was mixed in after the fact. You can noticeably hear abrupt starts and stops to the crowd response.

Split personality Kane is gonna help Taker beat Brock at Hell in the Cell. He is also gonna win the belt setting up a fued with Lesnar which will see Brock get the belt back around December or maybe the Royal Rumble. The Rock is gonna win the Rumble.

A lot of it is for the same reason that people like Bayley. She's an underdog. She's a jobber with personality. Another is just the way she was introduced, with Cass singing her theme song and all that. Plus, as "lame" as her gimmick is, it is unique.

If you look deeper than that tho, Leva Bates is a good wrestler (altho she really doesn't get to show it in NXT) and is a geek which people can relate to.
