WWE Thread III

It was never that way though. I do get what you are saying but for me with the fact WWE is now on the network and not PPV I think you bite the bullet and focus on your young stars to get more people into WWE

Vince isn't booking Mania for you. You, like me and everyone else that regularly post in here, are watching regardless. Vince books Mania for Joe, who posts in here seven times a year and hears Goldberg and marks out.

But isn't that the exact reason ratings have steadily declined the last few years and new stars are struggling to get over? Casuals will always show up for Mania season. This should be the time where new stars are made to help get those guys over with the casual fans who may not have seen them. If those younger guys show some larger than life personality and get over with the casual fans, those fans may continue to watch throughout the year instead of just waiting til next year's Rumble.

I know you're probably thinking, "Vince did that with Roman last year and it didn't work" and that's true. Roman isn't cast correctly as a face though. He doesn't have that personality to draw in casuals. I don't know if anyone on the main rosters has that personality, but it's worth giving a full timer a shot since Mania makes money either way.

Yep... And it's funny when people act like this is a new phenomenon. It's a show that going back 20+ years has had top of the card matches by the likes of Lawrence Taylor, Mr. T tagging with Hulk Hogan and Floyd Maywether. It's pure spectacle.

It's still real to me damnit!!

Just got around to watching Raw. How annoying is it when a guy holds up his dumb sign pimping his crappy website every time the camera is on him?

Why does WWE allow jackwagons like that to be a distraction to the product?

Also, how did we get to a point where some selfish douchebag holds his sign up all night long obstructing the view of people behind him and nobody says something to him? If it were a sign about wrestling I could understand but it's a sign promoting some crappy website him and his two friends probably run from his moms basement.

New stars do get over at Mania. Same crap these threads have produced for years. A loss doesn't necessarily mean you're buried and no average Joe is headlining Mania. No way would the average fan watch Mania if Ambrose, Zayn or even Owens were headlining. It's designed so that when Owens, Zayn, Bayley, etc steal the show in the middle, the casual fan remembers those names come Summerslam

I don't see Alexa losing to Naomi, nor do I want to see Alexa lose to Naomi

Something to keep in mind is that Alexa can lose the match by DQ or count out, but still retain the title. The betting odds are just for the match result, not who will win the title.

Fair enough. As long as Alexa still has the belt, I'm fine with it

People will watch and go to wrestlemania REGARDLESS who's in the main matches. It's Wrestlemania. Using part timers is lame and stupid. Build new stars. Sure use them during the show for fun little segments to hit the old nostalgia button. But don't put them in main event matches over talents who's worked their asses off all year. Use upcoming talent in those high profile matches and maybe some of the casuals who watch it will be intrigued and watch more often. That makes more sense to me. Wrestlemania sells on its name alone. You could have Curtis Axel vs Jimmy Uso as the main event and people would still tune it.

The new elimination chamber......It looks lighter, so maybe they won't as limited as to where they can hold chamber matches. It also seems like theres more room on top of the pods for spots.

You're simply wrong. A twice a year fan isn't watching Owens-Zayn. They don't even know who Uso and Axel are. They'll watch April Sunday Night Baseball before that
