WWE Thread III

That really stinks about Cody. Yet another wasted talent by WWE.

So is Sandow now the worst MITB winner ??

I've defended Sandow a lot in this thread, but yes he is the worst MITB winner. When he won he obviously wasn't at the level of previous winners, and he wasn't at a level that winning the world title would legitimize him yet.
I'll play fantasy booker here and say that after he lost his cash in match, I'd have had him align with the authority and become GM of RAW or Smackdown. He could've been a heel GM that feuds with midcarders to elevate upcoming babyfaces a la William Regal 2001. Think about the backstage segments of him in his office. Always sipping champagne. Having an oil portrait made. This could have let him be on tv doing what he did best without needing him to wrestle week in week out.

No clue who wins MITB. Owens has the best case. Cesaro would solidify his spot. Ambrose would be the most fun story. Rollins would get the biggest pop. Cena with MITB means a chance for his 16th championship. Rusev (with the US title) would get him established.

Sheamus and Swagger could be the worst MITB winners possibly. They did cash in successfully but still. Swagger was booked like garbage as World Champ. And Sheamus...just why. Lol

Back in the day, a young Billy Gunn had the MITB and it went over like a football bat.

Both good cases. At least Sheamus had the credentials of past Championships and Swagger seemed to be a star in the making at the time. Wwe clearly had no direction for Sandow. And for how good of a worker he was and how well he could turn s**t into gold, he never had a finishing move. Kinda weird that creative never forced one on him or anything.

This stuff with Cody is now turning strange! He posted on his twitter the following...

All the reports I've seen are 100% false & just speculation.

Hope to provide answers by this evening.

I suppose it could be a work where Stardust is resigning and Cody Rhodes will return?

This evening huh? Is he in a preshow match with Crews or something where he'll end the Stardust character?

Cody Rhodes released officially by WWE.

Him and Dibiase were supposed to be stars and neither ever came close to reaching their heights.

Odd, in light of Cody's tweet. Cody is a great talent in the ring and has really come far on his mic skills from his early days. I would expect him to return in a few years, and hopefully creative will do right by him in the future.
