Did you miss the point of the tweet? The DC lineman grabbing and downing a tallboy like Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Yes, he did. Somehow out of that he got that ESPN was bashing the DC crowd.

Which not only makes no sense given the context of the tweet and that it's clear the game is over, it also makes no sense considering ESPN/ABC televised the game.

From what I’ve noticed is the QB position seems to be the weakest link. But I guess that’s a struggle for the NFL too. Without an elite quarterback back it’s hard to win.
That said, I have noticed a lot of wonderful long receptions in the last two weeks, they have just been overshadowed by the turnovers and bad decisions.

I think the quarterback position will improve in 2021 and 2022. I wonder if the XFL will start having some sort of player draft in 2021?

That’s a great question, how has it worked in the past with other start up football leagues as far as a draft?

I believe the USFL had a draft in 1983-1985. There wasn't any particular order concerning the USFL player drafts and i think all the teams were pretty much on their own.

What is your take on the XFL after week 2?

It's way better than the 2001 version and the AAF.

I think McMahon clearly learned his lessons from the 2001 version. He dropped all the silly gimmicks and it's all about the football. And all the rule changes don't feel gimmicky at all, they feel like actual attempts to improve the game or at least give the NFL some things to consider.

My only "gripes" I guess are I'm still not a fan of the in game interviews (though they are far less obnoxious than the 2001 ones) and I think most of the teams already need a uniform change. I kind of wish the name would have changed from XFL just because of the negative connections to 2001 but those are all pretty minor issues IMO.

Right now I think it has a decent shot at getting an official relationship with the NFL, aka a feeder/minor league type setup, which is what I think has to happen for one of these leagues to stick around long term.

You're right however I don't think Vince McMahon would be happy with that or go along with the XFL being an NFL minor league system.

Maybe not but he's also a business man and I think if the price is right he'll go along with it.

The first version also ended partly because of his stubbornness. There was going to be a Season 2 but NBC wanted to move the Saturday night prime time game to either Saturday or Sunday afternoon. McMahon refused and so NBC ended the partnership and McMahon couldn't afford for the league to keep going with just UPN and TNN(SpikeTV now) games. I think part of him regrets not sticking with it and working with NBC to keep the games on there. Given he's already shown he's capable of change, I think he would listen to the NFL.

I think the Memphis' and Birminghams are SOL in getting a team, at least in the near future. It's pretty clear the XFL wants to be in the same markets as NFL teams or markets like San Diego and St. Louis that have been NFL markets. I wonder if they will target Oakland now that the Raiders are officially gone.

They’d be in a tough spot finding a stadium if the A’s ever get the all clear on their new ballpark
