I think the XFL is in better shape than the USFL was from 1983-1985.I just got back from a workout and they had NFL Live on one of the TVs. I wasn't really watching that much but I did notice they devoted a pretty good segment of the show to the XFL. They had some highlights from Week 2, some player profiles, and preview of Week 3 games.
The TV deal they got with ESPN and FOX is huge.
I’m surprised they would discuss the XFL on NFL Live, seems like a conflict of interest.I just got back from a workout and they had NFL Live on one of the TVs. Hope the XFL is here to stay, but I think one way a spring league could be successful is if it was started and run by the NFL.I'll also say that if the XFL doesn't survive then I think it will officially be time to quit trying to get spring football leagues to work. The XFL has the best setup that I've ever seen with the cities chosen and a TV deal that has every game nationally televised each week and both ESPN and Fox Sports promoting the league during the week. I really can't see how any league could ever have that great of a launchpad.
And while I wish it had made it, I think in the long run it's probably best the AAF didn't last because I have a feeling the XFL would have killed it off if it had made it to a second season. The only way they could have competed is if CBS had made a commitment to the league and worked it out where the AAF got a similar TV deal and had 2 games on CBS and 2 games on TNT each weekend. And I mean CBS, not CBS Sports Network.
Come to think of it, think of how cool that would have been if the AAF had made it and got a TV deal like that. We'd have 8 games a week and competition, plus no overlap of teams since the leagues didn't share any cities. Though I'm wondering if the AAF would have moved some teams like Salt Lake City and Arizona. Those 2 teams drew flies to their games.
They’d be wise to to find somewhere in the San Fran or Oakland direct area in my opinion. I know I already mentioned Oakland could be tough because the current O Co Coliseum isn’t going to be around much longer and whatever the A’s end up doing will likely result in a baseball only stadium, but San Francisco locals aren’t happy that Levi Stadium is in Santa Clara (basically San Jose) and as mentioned, Oakland won’t have the Raiders anymore. If the XFL expands into the Bay Area, I think they’d be way more successful finding a stadium in San Fran or Oaktown. If they went to the San Fran area I wonder if they'd consider San Jose. San Jose has the MLS Earthquakes and an MLS stadium that might be a better fit than a 60K stadium. Although something tells me if they went there they'd end up at Levi Stadium. The original XFL San Francisco Demons played at the Giants Stadium, so that might be an option too.
NO to Johnny Manzell he sucked in the AAF and the CFL hardly trying at all!Not sure why, but he deleted his account.

The XFL needs qbs if it’s going to last. I’d give Manziel a shot.
Walker will likely be in the NFL in some capacity next year and if Jones keeps up his play, he could be as well. The long term success of the XFL will be the availability of qbs playing well. If Manziel bombs, so be it. But at least let him try imo
