Dude was in tears apologizing to the fans and talking about the people here who have supported him in building the program.
Bob and company had to step in and say a few words while he gathered himself. Talked about the guys coming in next year, and the awareness of the Vols around the county, and the work everyone has put in. It was just a pure moment. You can tell he's crushed about losing that game.

I don't know anyone who thinks he is leveraging us for a better job. He will definitely leverage job offers for raises, but I can't really say I would do any different.

I definitely agree that he has a lot of passion for the program.

I dunno, it was on the postgame with Bob and Bert, which they never seem to put up anywhere. It's definitely worth a listen if you can find it. Ole Bert nearly bawled himself.

When you take your team to the Elite 8 for the first time in the program's history, you don't need to leverage anything but your own performance.

Wait. I thought that it was settled here that it is inappropriate and gay for a coach to show such emotion after a tough loss.

He didn't give Wayne Chism an eskimo kiss if that's what you're inferring. Don't even compare Bruce and his passion to Urban and his cultlike persona. I fully expect half your team to commit suicide the next time a major comet rolls by the planet.

That or daterape half the campus.

UT needs to bump Pearl's salary up big time to keep him happy, plus a huge bonus. He needs to be up in the $4 mil range.

I am not comparing the two. I defended Meyer when he got emotional after tough losses, and I would defend Pearl for doing the same thing.

But, it appears that some on here see no inconsistency in beaming with pride at Pearl for doing it whilst simultaneously mocking the same intensity in Meyer.

It's a fair point. But I still find your coach disturbing. He's kind of like a competent Brad Childress, only with a Jonestown type vibe rather than a pedo vibe.
