Only beat UK by 7 today...in a game a lot like our win over South Bammer and nearly lost to UCF the week before that.

I am not underestimating them...they have a senior QB and a tough D, but if we could go toe to toe with uga today, we can take them too. Looking forward to it!

Under Dooley I would have felt a numb sense of dread...not so this year.

Whatever you do, don't sell spurrier short. He hates UT. He will get his team up for the game. If UT can play against the gamecocks like tonight, that may be the game when we turn the corner. Of all the coaches I like to beat, it is probably spurrier.

Shaw may be healthy enough to play against us in 2 weeks but if he gets hit a few times he will be prone to being injured all over again.

Their D is pretty much Clowney. I remember one of the preseason mags said that South Carolina had the 2nd worst LB corps in the SEC this year, only ahead of Kentucky's.

I'd rather beat Muschump or Saban. I agree with everything else though.

Shaw played today. Clowney supposedly got banged up.

I don't get this place; everyone seems to be downplaying SC to an extent, so if we do beat them, does that suddenly mean it's not a big win?

I thought Shaw was out for a while?

I have never really thought of him as an upper echelon guy to be honest. He seems like he is an okay QB but would have thought Spurrier would have some superstar 5 star QB with an arm like a cannon playing for him.

I don't think anyone is downplaying them. Qb's that can run usually do well against us, and they have a great RB. I think everyone was just listing a few positive things about the game. Spurrier is top notch, and they're a top 13 team that will show up to play.

He doesn't put up big passing numbers, but he's been incredibly efficient this year. He can also make plays with his legs.

The UT team that came within a hair of knocking off GA yesterday could beat SC even on their home field. But you have to be leery of Spurrier anywhere you play him. He's known to pull out a trick play or two, especially in a close game.

Clowney declined to play tonight and Spurrier sounded pretty unhappy. Sounds like someone thinks he's bigger than the team.

Shaw and Mike Davis are great, but their defense (surprisingly, I might add) leaves so much to be desired. If Second Half Justin Worley continues, Tennessee has a great chance.

Didnt Ellis Johnson run that D last year?

Clowney is protecting himself. Unhappy with the way they are using him

Spurrier is facing a 3 game on the road schedule. I would like to see them beat AK in a close one headed into Knoxville. I really think our game hinges on their perfomance against the razorbacks because I think the pigs will bounce back and give them a good game and possibly win... I think if AK rolls SC and they get humiliated then we may be in trouble..

They knew they were playing Kentucky, and they weren't up for the game. They still managed to pull it out. It's no different than why UT looked so bad against USA and then almost beat Georgia. You can't be at the top of your game for every game.

No one in the SEC is up for Kentucky unless it's basketball season.

Well we really didn't go toe to toe with Uga. They were missing several toes.. I am proud of the way our guys fought though!

First, hats off to our team for playing tougher when 14 points behind and even tougher as the game wore on. Taking nothing away from our boys who clearly demonstrated the concept of Tennessee Tough yesterday.

Now, or a reality check to those reading more into this close lost with Georgia. The score was what it was because Georgia had at least 4 (possibly 5) key players out with injuries. Both dynamo RBs which was very significant for them. Without those injures, it would have been a different ball game. I'm truly sorry those young men are hurt, especially knee injures which are hard to come back from.Despite that, I can't generate much sympathy for the Bulldog team. Our Vols have endured repetitive injures these past few years to key players before seasons started or very young into the season. It has cost us dearly. So while I do regret those Bulldog's injures, all I can muster is welcome to the Club of the Damned. We've been patrons here for along time. :vava:

This is the game Tiny has been waiting for all year. I hope he breaks clowney.

You just gave me a thought. Clowney took himself from the KY game. Spurrier sound ticked off about Clowney's claims to not be able to play. My first thought was Clowney is acting like a clown and basically saving himself for the pro ranks. Not playing takes aay the injury factor which could reduce his draft stock.

But your post maks me wonder if he's doing this to be fresh for the Tiny-Jav II rematch.
